Delayed opening at Bridger

Title says it all, Bridger's not opening until they get more snow. I'm really glad I quit my well paying job at thanksgiving so I could ski.

Yeah, my 5 day weekends aren't as fun as I thought they'd be right now. Once we get snow it will be an entirely different story.

ya, showdown is saying they need another solid foot and tomorow is supposed to be 50 degrees in town

really stoked that my first winter in Montana is such a great snow year. I am starting to queston the Bridger pass and frequent sky card. Should have just saved the money for road trips to places like Baker and Alta, places that actually get snow.

No need to fret, this happens more often than not. There's always snow by the end of December.

it is coming, last time Bridger delayed a week they got like 10 feet around christmas, remember that??

I don't see how I could forget that; that week was exponentially better than any other time of my life!

it will be fine i bet, i am just freakin out. I just hope when i return to bozeman on January 11th, Big Sky and Bridger both are 100% open.

to bad i was hoping to hit opening day, oh well ill be back in co for a month much better there they have parks

ha, normaly when I go home for christmas it dumps and then I have to wait til Feb again for the deeps. Christmas break in CO fucks you, Colorado is crazy busy, Montana gets dumped, I come back to MT and its like -20 everyday too cold to snow, that is why I am going to Mexico this year.

Bueno, pero el esquiar en Montaña es mejor que el sol etupido en Mexico. Un menos persona para usar mi nieve.

how old are you? I have lived in CO for a couple decades myself. And I have skied storms all over the state and not one has touched a few storms I have experienced @ Bridger or Targhee, most of them between Dec. 20th and January 10th. Colorado is the shit as well, but going home for christmas is kinda bittersweet. No students at Bridger and Big Sky, everyone and their bitch is in CO.

My whole family is bilingual, whoa, a free trip to mexico is always cool, never lame. Its nice to go somewhere that isn't cold and full of dudes, every once in a while. I may miss a storm, but Febuary is on the way. Your snow, huh?? Get a brain.

Anyways, I was up at bridger today and it is looking EXTREMELY sparse. Hopefully this week some snow comes.

Yeah, Moonlight's been really hurting. I'll be one of the first people to know when they open, so I'll post something when I find out.

no dude im 18 and lived in co for 12 years powder days are far and few between, but the snow is always good in the park

the parks are sweet and I love skiing Vail, but so many people are there, I get nervous compared to Montana.

looks like they are opening on friday. if someone already posted about this, my apologies. but it was on the cover of the chronicle today. yup.

Well, for those that care and weren't at Bridger today, it was actually not horrible. The whole mtn looks like bushes and grass, but there's a bit of good snow to find and the lifts are running!

Don't worry, it was 45 degrees up there today. Now it's horrible. I was going to go ski slushman's because that looked good, but the idea of being taken out by a giant rolling ball of snow wasn't very appealing to me.

I am heading back from mexico, didn't seem to miss any snow. Any good skiing to be done???

Looks like I was wrong about Colorado sucking, it was great there. Snowy but windy.

Is Briger and Big SKy as bad as I hear, things like "never seen it get to January like this" and "Bridger is hurting bad, that shit sucks."

These are quotes from emails I have recieved while in Mexico.

Should I head to Targhee??? School starts the 18th!!!!!

The couloir at Big Sky and the Hyalites are skiing really well, but unless you just want to do that I'd suggest going to Wyoming.

It was actually pretty good today aside from being super cold and windy. If you looked in the right spots there were knee to waist deep turns to be had.

for sure ^. I had some face shots today in some spots where the wind had deposited the snow. Not bad at all, besides starting to get frostbite on my face.

Meh, you learn to live with frostbite if you're a skier here. I'm just going to hike or skin a lot tomorrow to stay warm.

yup, same here ^. I checked it i think on thursday morning, and wednesday's report was the only one on there. then i checked it later in the day and the site wouldnt come up at all.

just call 406-587-6981
