it's not cool...

never rested them on concrete, only skiied them for 1 day and when they were in a rack, they were elevated in a snowboard "ski-key" style rack. for now i've epoxied them but if this is what they are like after 1 skiing day then i'm questionning the durability

yeah dude that aint a delam, that is from contact... if it was a delam it wouldn't be chipped like that.

you kidding? my friend skiied his for 1 day and he had a gash that went from the topsheet down to the edge, through the core, behind the binding, so not from x-upped skis

Dude, I have skied 40+ days on my Watch Life's and have nothing like that. There is no way that is a delam, that is from pure impact. I have also worked in a ski shop for 5+ years and that IS NOT a factory delam - it's abuse!!

There is no company big or small that would warranty that. Seriously!

are you fuckin shitting me? my last skis have lasted 2 season's with less damage than my watch life's have for one day! explain that to me.

I hate getting involved in these online scruffles. Although I do also hate it when people swear and get upset so easily, especially here, when everyone else being honest and mostly polite as to what they think happened to your skis.

I don't know too much about impacts and such, but I can tell you that I had my nose delaminate from some crazy snow shralping boarder who ran in to me. And it looked almost exactly like your tail does right now. Bring it in to a shop, and for ten dollars or so they'll put epoxy in it and squish it in a heat press for a day or two. It'll be better than new.

ok guys, i'm sorry for the potty-mouth. it's just i love the skis, and i don't want them to be so fragile, i don't wanna lose them! *cries*

beat you to it, but thank you very much for the offer. i epoxied the seperation shut, and some of the chips. I used marine epoxy (2 part). do you think it will hold up?

if the epoxy you used doesn't work out, then try the slow setting kind of epoxy where you apply and clamp for 24 hours. and if all else fails. epoxy/rivet.

i used a 1 hour epoxy, but let it set for 24hr. it was "clamped" with elastics (yeah i know... ghetto) cause i couldn't find my clamps

i know we've moved past the whats what part, but i wanted to put my two cents in...i have skied my watch lifes on pretty much everything and that is the type of banger that comes from impact. there are the few chips on my top sheets, but for something like that to happen it would have to be a hit, not a delam. perhaps your skis were banged up by someone else while you were gone?? but i know that my skis, as well as most in here, have held up extremely well.

i hope the epoxy works for you and i'm bummed that you have to deal with something like that first couple days out.

i have seventy some odd days on my watch lifes and not a single complaint... as well as running a skis shop repairing skis and board consumes several hours of my daily life and that is most def an impact my guess is somebody hit the tail of your ski with the tip of your ski or board it happens quite a bit....

that does not need a rivet. you need a rivet if you have a serious delam with core from edges type delam, that is a cosmetic. still is a downer none the less.

get dupont 420 epoxy, i fixed all the chips on my topsheets with it and its held up for like two weeks. plus the name is cool. and yeah, ive done most of my park shredding on those skis this year, at least 30 days as im at 75 overall, and no edge cracks, delams, core shots, etc.... just topsheet chips, but what can you do about that. these skis are definately durable.
