Definition of "skill" in park skiing

So i go to thinking about this as i was skiing in the park. In your defition is skill lean more towards the size of the feature that one hits or the bag of tricks that one has. For example a 270 on to a flat box vs just sliding a urban.

bigger features with big bangs! but actually just rippin through a mini park and being able to do a whole bunch of tricks and spins isn't fun for me.. feels lame

Just being able to flow nice in the park and have style along with a solid set of tricks... I've known a kid that was just learning to ski but was still hucking backflips. It doesn't necessarily mean you're skilled some people are just reckless. You gotta go your own pace though.

A person's bag of tricks across ALL features is what shows skill in my opinion. A bag of tricks on a 20 foot flat box doesn't really matter in my opinion. It's great for learning but it doesn't mean much until a person takes the tricks they've learned on smaller features like a flat box to bigger features like a 30 foot down urban.

i would say someone who is skilled can do tricks both ways. switch on, sliding unnatural rails, left and right spins, can link fluid lines of tricks down a nice park with jumps and rails.

also develops own unique style and has done urban and backcountry stuff.

Balls: Disastering the biggest stuff in the park, gapping everything, huge air, and hitting the big features. (basically doing big stuff)

Skill: Switchups, Unattys, lot's of combos etc. (basically doing tricks on things)

Kinda true, no one wants to see a bunch of k-fed variations on a flat box, but someone who can throw a handful of tricks that you barely ever see and literally sesh the hell out of an easy feature will never get old to me.

3:42 are some of of my favorite shots from last season. So many great tricks thrown only on some butter boxes and a flat bar.

I sw 2 front 4d a 6 foot long flat rail that was 6 inches off the ground in the mini mini park and it felt purty good. /claim
