Define: Park Rat

I think a park rat is someone who skis park when the snow is super good and they ski park every run of the day and dont think it's worth it to ski the rest of the mountian. oh well I dont agreee and I dont think park rats are whole and complete skiers but to each his own I suppose
 
dont talk smack son?$?$? I dunno I truely don't care what people do with their free time. If you want to ski park all day thats great, theres people in my ski crew who would prefer to ski park to all mountain when the terrain out here is the shit. Thats cool for them. I just don't think park rats are good skiers thats all. Most of them are sick at park but pounders on the hill who think they can ski well. Not that I'm amazing on the hill either but I sure as hell try and I'm not horrible at park either.
 
What do you call a person who spend 90% of their day in the park but can still shred the rest of the mountain? To me a park rat is someone who spends most of their on-mountain time in the park, regardless of how well they do or don't ski outside of the park.
 
I dont think threre is anything wrong with a park rat. If thats what they like to do whos gives a shit. I'm almost grateful to them for staying only in the park so I don't have to deal with shitty skiers like them.
 
its said that we east coasters ski better all mtn. then west coasters because we ski so much more shit (ice, corn, chop) than way west coast people. or midwest people. When i whent to tahoe (my first time ever skiing big mtn at all) i ripped it up. had no problem with really steep stuff and the "bad conditions" they had that week.
 
everyone calls me a park rat but i love skiing trails too when there is nice conditions... but thats not a lot of the time. If there were bowls of pow id definatly ski them
 
i get called a park rat sometimes, but its always by skiers who dont like park. they think that park isn't a valid part of skiing. and generally i can destroy them on any terrain they choose
 
I love it how everytime someone from the East Coast says they skiied the west coast its always "I smoked everyone on the mountain, blah blah blah" I'm sure you dominated those groomers and people wearing blue jeans.
 
i disagree. a park rat is someone who spends maybe 60% + of their time on the mountain in the park regardless of off piste and/or other skiing abilities. i consider myself a park rat because i love it and i spend pretty much all my time there, but i am also a CSIA Level II instructor and have been skiing for 14 years.
 
Are you people fucking idiots? Last time I checked big mountain and 'park rats' all took part in a sport called freeskiing. You know, the freedom to do whatever the fuck you want. You all bitch that they arn't good skiers and how they don't know how to hit the slopes up at all, but here's my question: when the fuck did they ever claim that they did? If you don't see 'park rats' claiming that they are good big mountain skiers then shut the fuck up, all you're doing is being a fucking dick.
 
someone who stands at the bottom of a jump or rail just so they can make fun of anyone who messes up on it wen they can or can't do it themselves, and says they can do everything they see someone else do...

...OH WAIT! that's my definition of a snowboarder let me find my park rat definition...
 
east coast has a lot of park rats well atleast pa does becuase all we have are parks...out mountains arent worth riding so our parks have to be the fill in
