define newschool skiing

can someone give me a good solid clean cut definition of newschool skiing, i would like to hear what people have to say. give some good ones

well, these peoples called skiers opened up a school with government funding and called it hte newschool academy. they skiied too, so they were like 'HEY! lets call ourselves newschoolers!' the end

Pushing the ordinary -- whenever I say I ski many people laugh because they thing of dads or racers in gay one pieces...I think newschool skiing incorporates the park, and the whole mountain as your playground to expand your abilities and push the limits. swith tricks, rails, spins, flips, dropping cliffs, lines, etc

I live in Dirty Jersey. I curse... a lot. I say -yo- and I say it often. I sure as hell dont pump my own gas. I know a bagel is much more than a fuckin roll with a hole in the middle. I judge people by what exit they live off the parkway. I can navigate a circle... with attitude. Two words-- mother fucker. I dont go to the beach, I go down the shore. I know that 65 mph really means 80. When someone cuts me off, they get the finger... and they expect it. I ride ice and i dont mind, 6 inches of snow is heaven for me. Im a Jersey Kid..

way back when people used to do daffies and what not, they thought it was sick, then it progressed and shit started gettign crazier and had a totally different style, when people who only new the daffies and what not still did them, it was called old school, now they we redefined it, it's newschool. I think.

 
I never call it newschool skiing, i call it skiing. when people ask if someone snowboards, they don't say that they 'freestyle snowboard' or 'newschool snowboard'. they just fucking snowboard. so do your part in changing the stereotype of onepieces and coloured lip suntan lotion stuff and just call it 'skiing' fron now on.

no way man, skiing is racing, newschool,big mountain, and what not, on snowboard nothign every really changed, nothign got really redifined because it's not nearly as old as skiing, witht skiing changing alot of people don't know about the change, and plus, what would we call this site, skiers.com? Newschoolers it is.

well, personally, if we are truly re-defining 'skiing', it would be good if people think of 'newschool' when someone says 'skiing'. the only way to do that is to call it what it is. Whoever said 'skiing is racing' basically served as an example to what I'm talking about. we have to change the stereotype.

ok, we don't 'have' to, but whenever i hear people say 'newschool' it's like they're having to justify the fact that they ski. like 'I ski, but the newschool stuff ya know'. be proud to be a skier, let you're actions speak for you.

Newschool is the latest in skiings progression which is freestyle skiing. Hit the park, rails, pipes, and urban.

lol...when ever somebody asks me if i snowboard, im like, 'no...i ski.' Than they're like...wow...loser, but then i say i have twin tips. Than they're like wow ur cool lets be friends.
