Define a pretzle?

this is the way i see it. if your just sliding the rail, with no switchups, you have to spin at least at least a 270 and spin the opposite way out to be considered a pretzle. however there is one acception. switch on up 270 out, i would consider a pretzle. it sounds like i am contridicting myself, but if you can do it, or have tried it and can't you know what i am talking about.  as far as switups. if you get on right foot forward and do a frontside sw up, that is not a pretzle. just a frontside switchup. however if you do another switchup the other way (doublt frontside swithup) then the second would be considered pretzle. along the same lines, if you do a frontside switchup and then a downhill 270, the 270 would be considered the pretzle. i didn't reall ALL of the posts, but most of them. if i repeated, my bad, if not, hope that helps.

i would say you have to spin atleast 270 on and off, and when getting off you soin the opposite way you spun on. if you dont have to spin more that 90 for it to be a pretzel, then gettin on and coming out 'regular' would be pretzel and that takes all the reward out of doing a pretzel.

theres also no such thing as just a pretzel. Someone said that, i didn't quote em. You can't just say pretzel. it has to have direction.

in my mind a pretzle is any spin off a rail in the opposite direction. like rs on left 270 off. so you are both right.

Hahaha only 2 and a bit years ago. I actually remember reading this thread that year when I was a complete noob and it helped me out so much.

don't you drop the front ski down? or is this something totally different. like i rs 90 on, drop the back of my left ski down, and ls 27 out

A SALTY TREAT!!

General rule we have always gone with is it has to be atleast a 180, so you would be doing a bs sw pretz 2 out.

You have too do at least a 270 on, and then at least a 270 in the opposite direction off. Think about it...90% of the time, you turn 90 onto a rail. And if I do a 270 out, its usually in the opposite way that I turned 90 on, but its not a pretzel. Turning 90 is just how you get onto a rail, noting special about it.

i always thought pretzels were any switch in the way you rotate on a rail, so if your spinning left then switch to right i would call that a pretzel

^ no. thats the basic rail/box "trick" that most begin with.

without switchups, you would have to spin fs 270 on, bs 270 off (or vice versa)

with switchups, bs swap to bs 270 off or fs swap to fs 270 out.

you must spin at least 180 degrees in one direction, then 270 the other direction

new question, does a bs/fs swap to bs/fs swap count as pretzel? or does it only count as pretzel if the spin OFF is the opposite direction?
