Has anyone ever skiied Deer Valley? Im going with a friend this month but I don't really know much about it other than its no snowboarders. I don't think they have any parks either :(

Absolutely an amazing mountain, especially f you or your friend have a ton of money to blow. Restaurants are all top notch, same with the hotels and service.

The mountain has no snowboarders which is great, idk about a park i cant remember, but everything is groomed to perfection all the time. Most people who go there are pretty bad skiers and only tick to the trails so there is a ton of fresh pow to be found all the time. The steeps are decent nothing special but really fun.

Would highly recommend if you can afford to go

No parks at deer valley so if you're a park rat its not your place. But if you appreciate some super nice groomers and great steep terrain than you guys will have a blast

That sounds great. My friends family is actually paying for lodging and whatnot and they just invited ne along so it should be fun

Danke for quoting what I couldn't on mobile. Make sure to bring money for the amazing food because that's still my fondest memory from a day of riding there.

best ski resort in PC for sure.

Head over to empire if there is fresh snow, chutes 4-7 are my favorite and pretty technical, while all the bowls over there (lady morgan, daly bowl, etc.) are fun too. The newest lift, Lady Morgan Express, has some great cliffs and tree skiing, so if there is fresh snow, this would also be a good choice, and is right next to empire.

If it hasnt snowed in some time, hike off the right side of Ontario, right after the bridge, and you can get into short, but open pow fields. Ontario bowl, after traversing far right, can hold some goodies too.

It is true, there are no parks which is lame, but there are Wu booters on the sides of all the runs just like any other resort, so make the best of 'em!

Deer Valley is the best resort in PC if you don't care about skiing and have money to blow. Has some good terrain but you can find that almost anywhere in Utah.

most DV food is comparable in price to any other mountain dining. It is true that if you go to the Stein, St. Regis, or Mariposa you will be spending a lot, but for a burger and fries its not anymore then PC or Canyons, that is why kids usually dont eat resort food anywhere. and besides food, what the fuck else are you spending your money on at the mountain?

Agreed, you can find good terrain anywhere in Utah, but on a powder day, the lines at Alta, the Bird, PC, etc are all going to be longer then DV, so even though I have an Alta pass, Epic Pass, and DV pass, thats usually the deciding factor.

I enjoy skiing at DV vs PCMR, better groomers, better terrain, less people, etc. I think for pow skiing in the park city area, I'd choose Canyons, but DV definitely has some good shit as well.

Canyons prices are actually worse than DV this year, but traditionally everything about going to DV has been pricier. King Con is probably the shittiest lift to get stuck at anywhere in Utah, but I don't ski enough Alta to comment on the lift lines anywhere else than Canyons/PCMR.

Im about to hit up Deer Valley tomorrow. Anyone have suggestions on where to score bud around PC? Flew in and was sketched out about bringing in on the plane

tbh it has some of the best pow skiing in PC. you can score fresh turns days, sometimes weeks after storms there. amazing food, too. Royal Street Cafe is amazing.
