Deep Movies

I didnt see it but my parents saw Pursuit of Happyness and i guess it was pretty emotional. Some others are Flags of Our Fathers, 16 blocks, and i cant really think of any more...

depends what you want out of it, do you want a movie that makes you think "what if?" after seeing it? or do you want one that brings an unknown (to you) social commentary into perspective? or do you want to explore the human mind?

Donnie Darko (biggest mindfuck in the world)

Waking Life

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

The Science of Sleep

The Beach

Vanilla Sky

Lucky # Slevin

A Scanner Darkly

Memento

i'll add to this list:

A Clockwork Orange

American History X

Apocalypse Now

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

im too tired to think of others right now, i'll get back when it's not 2 AM

if you actually listen to the dialogue and the points that movie makes, I'd say its deep. Sure, not a mindfuck but still, a little deep I'd say.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, even though it wasnt nearly as deep as the book, I still thought it had some significant basic points.

i just saw eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, and while i dont really know what a "deep" movie is, that was pretty stimulating. and kirsten dunst is slutty in it, which is nice.

Landis has a good list, quite a few of the movies I was going to say are in there, plus some other up above that (American Beauty, for one).

But to add the the crazy mind-fuck type of film, go rent 'Stay'...I assure you it's worth it.

Alright there are a bunch of them posted in here but seriously, you all really should watch:

BOBBY.

We watched it my history class, and the ending seriously had about 5 or 6 people crying. Definitely the most powerful movie i've ever seen.

I just saw the movie Crash posted... no. That movie sucked. It was such a bad movie and everyone is on it's dick because it managed to sneak in every stereotype known to man.

yea that movie sucks, everyone thinks its about racism but its just about how your individual actions effect the lives of complete strangers. the different races interacting just made it easier to tell the story.
