Does anyone have any suggestions for a good vidoe editing software for windows? I have tried Premiere but for some reason it will not read the AVI files that I took off my Canon.

Thanks

I have the SD400, it take pretty good movie clips... it even has a 60fps function. Anyway, I just copy them over from the SD chip to my hard drive. When I try to load them in Premiere it tells me that there was an unsupported compression routine or something. The clips are fine, and play in media player ok.

avid liquid is really good for like action sports, thats what i used to edit my wakeboard teaser ...check it out under my videos section (focal point)

when still cameras record video it compresses them in a weird format so thats your problem. You probably won't be able to use them except with whatever came with the camera.

chris try importing them using windows movie maker as a dv-avi file, then opening them in premiere, thats what i have to do for my cam.

I think I have narrowed it down to:

CyberLink PowerDirector

Canopus EDIUS

Pinnacle Studio Plus

Any comments on these?

Thanks

maybe you missed it in my fist post, I have 1.5 but it will not read the AVI files I pulled off my camera.
