hey, i have been snowboarding for about 7 years and yesterday my friend let me try his skis out for a little while and i loved it.

now im just looking for a decent pair to start out on. any suggestions?

if you're looking at park skis go with line invaders cause they are cheap and probably the most similar to snowboards in the sense that they're nice and buttery. If not invaders and you want something a little stiffer go with k2 Fujatives. For sizes i'd probably go with skis that go to between the height of your eyebrows and the top of your head since you are just starting.

yeah my friend told what size to get an all and i was actually looking at the fugitives. ill check out the Line ones though

since you already snowboard, making the jump to skiing isn't that hard and there really isn't a pair of starter skis you should look for. Even if you got a high end park ski you would pick it up pretty fast but people might talk shit that the kid with AR6's or something like that is falling on flat groomers. But think if you really want to make the switch to skiing you aren't limited to begginer skis. I made the switch from boarding to skiing last year and it took me no time at all to pick up skiiing. So if you think you'll be skiing a lot look for something in the upper 4 range instead of the 300 range becasue price point skis (invaders, silencers) will not survive that abuse you will be able to give them in 40 days. THink future too, do you want to be able to ski this ski next season too or are you just looking for a trial season per say. If you're thinking trial I would reccomend the invaders (i never thought i would write that sequence of words in my life). The invaders will give you the feel of where skiing is at today.

thanks for the help everyone, but im planning on snowboarding for the remainder of the season probably since i just bought a new board at the beginning not planning on even trying skiing. haha and yeah i dont think ima be doing crazy shit next season, maybe flat boxes at some point

I actually just switched from snowboarding to ski and I got the Line Invaders, they're sick to start with.

i have some public enemys for super cheap with bindings and they are in perfect condish... pm me if you intrested

OORRR, instead of buying brand new skis, buy last years for like half off. i dunno about your shops, but the shop i work at, (aspenskiandboard.com) has a huge selection of last years skis at awesome prices. bindings, tune and wax for well within what your looking to pay.

I was in the same situation at the start of the seeason. I did a shit load of research and had some help from my friend who convinced to start skiing again. I ended up buying last years chronics and haven't regreted it once. they are great all over the mountain. got them for like 300 of untracked.
