December 3rd Rail Jam

Might as well start a thread about this...

Everything is in the very early stages right now. Everyone is loosely affiliated, and just hoping a crowd of people will come out and have some fun. Red Bull would like to know if anyone/who has homemade rails. If so, of what quality, length, shape etc. are they? We're just wanting to know what could be made available for something like this by people out there. Also if everyone that's around the city worked together for a couple of hours in the morning/afternoon on the 3rd we'll have a full day of hanging with friends and some pretty cool events. Red Bull will handle a lot of the details like snow transportation, materials to move snow/shape features, etc... I think they have flyers coming out tomorrow on the University campuses.

i think it would be better if whoevers doing this changed the date. im pretty sure i wont be there and im guessing some others wount either. it sounds fun though.

It's a great idea but Jeff Jensen, Thor, and myself, along with the entire Canada Games team will be in Stoneham on a training camp (that's 11 of our top jibbers out of town). If you want to push it back a week or so I'll help out and gather some of the troops.

i would love it but will be in stoneham as john stated..shitty. wicked that shit like this is starting to come together, i have metal not welded but got aguy who can do it...im thinking a frame rail...since we dont have one here.

anyway moving back would be cool, but the fact that TD is that night it makes since to have it...whatever happens happens. cool

Definitely a huge hit to the whole night that the Canada Games crew (and especially the coaches) won't be around in Hali on the 3rd. Months ago when dates were picked, the 3rd was the first weekend open without ski swaps & open houses. The rail jam definitely came out of nowhere and will likely be a trial run for Red Bull who are excited to do many more things like this. And a good way to promote TD to some onlookers or people that hadn't heard about it at that point... If it's successful, we'll get together and pick a date for an even bigger one that's good for everyone. Also, we'll be sure to stress to everyone that the best riders around are out of town and that anything else like it in the winter will be bigger and better without a doubt.

this sounds pretty sweet, we may have some rails you coudl use btu they are all pretty sketchy. A weekend or two ago we got about 8 full truckloads of snow and set up a few rails, a barrel jib, a 40ft rainbow and a little jump, btu all of the stuff we have makes for fairly dangerous and really sketch set ups

would this be open to snowboarders to, i have a lot of friends who would be interested but most of them are snowboarders
