Nah, Im actually paying for it though, I called the hospital and got it reduced down to 300 bucks and was stoked after a bunch of financial screening and shit. Paying my way through school and for my skiing career is expensive though, which is why I didn't want to pay it in the first place.

I feel like there's nobody on our side of it that thinks it's a good setup. Health insurance companies on the other hand.. To be fair though, there is no perfect solution. Socialized healthcare has its issues too.

try to come to a settlement with them, but first confirm it is actually a legit collector.. because idk about you but $1,500 is almost too little and seems too sus for it to be in collections
 
they may take temporary ownership of you house or car until you pay... but idk I’m just a teenager with parents paying for health stuff. Good luck tho and consider moving to Canada were it’s all free.
 
Just to let the boys know, I applied for financial aid and got the entire bill covered by the hospital. Ya boy is debt free and about to ski!
 
Hi everyone, I'm not sure that they can take you to jail because of that. First of all, what you have to do is to see if it is legal or not. You have to check if they included your service and didn't confuse you with someone, you know everything can happen. To be honest, I'm disappointed in our health system for a long time, they make the difference between people's needs and it is very bad. One of my friends once had such experience they gave them for payment the treatment that he didn't receive so he found a website about agency of debt collectors and they consulted him so he solved his problem with their help and he didn't may that bill. So just consult yourself and you will solve your problem and don't be afraid to ask!
