are any of you girls Debutantes? when is your ball? who is your escort? i opted out of my ball cause I would have to move to Tiburon for a while to do it so I could be in the San Francisco one. So, looks like I'm not going to become a "woman presented to society." damm, i really care alot. I have a ton of friends still in the SF and Pasadena ones though, any of you?

believe it or not the family who started and own the Yellowstone Club's daughter is comming out in her ball in SF in like 2 weeks. she kicks ass on skis.

basically theyre girls who come from "society" families and they have a "comming out as a woman into society" thing. they go for months being trained in shit like being "a proper lady" and "manners" and stuff and get to do some actually really cool stuff together like go to Giant's games and sit in the owners Box and feed the lions at the SF Zoo (i think thats cool at least).

Then they have a ball and they get "presented." they have to wear white gowns with gloves and its super exclusive to attend. you have to be invited to be a debutante and in come social circles it is WHAT YOU DO. for alot of the "proper" a-list families and old-money families, their daughters Deb ball is the most important thing in their life. most girls from my school are Debutantes. it seems really really boring and snotty to me, but usually, the girls are all boarding-school fuckups who can clean up well and look good in pearls but know how to party like a mother fucker, thats why i almost did mine. but then i realized i didnt care about being a part of that society...
