Debating on getting the T4i...

Well, NS. I currently have the Nikon d3100, pretty much limits me on how much video I can take with this. The only concerns I have with this is that I have to sell my D3100, all my lenses and then buy all new lenses for canon... damn. What do you think I should do.

P.S. Is the T4i a good camera?

T4i is a good camera, but don't forget about the T3i or T2i if you want some extra cash.

And you don't need to sell your lenses, I use some Nikon lenses on my DSLR. You just need an adapter, like the Fotodiox NIK-EOS adapter

I'm selling my D3100 setup to buy a GH2. It's a bitch to sell, but the GH2 is amazing. Personally it's pointless to advance so slightly, thats why I'm jumping up/

yeah idk about the t4i either. seems like a lot of gimmick stuff with no real better quality than the previous tXi models. save some cash, get a lens adapter, or get the gh2 like this guy^ i haven't looked much into them but from what i know i really like em

If you can afford the t4i, I would. I researched a bit and the new t4i has the digic 5 processor. Low light is much better noise wise than other options. At least from why I've read

I think you should wait for the D5100/D7000-successor(s) to come out and see if they bring 60p video. I'd also wait and see what the Canon mirrorless camera brings before making any decisions.

I personally think this on-sensor phase detect focus that the Nikon 1 and T4i have is revolutionary, and it is worth waiting to see how this technology develops.

I've worked with a GH2 before and was not happy at all with the results, i feel like for the price you get much more creativity out of a canon dslr

just get the d3200 if you don't want to switch to canon, they made a lot of improvements video-wise over the 3100.

I am also considering getting the t4i

I want a dslr that will take quality pictures and that I can use for recreational filming. I'm deciding between the t3i and the t4i. I can afford the t4i, but why spend the extra money if the t3i is essentially as good?

The most advertised feature of the t4i is the continuous autofocus while filming. Is that a joke from a videographer's stand point or is it a feature that would be actually useful for people other than n00bs?

The t4i also has an upgraded processor (better low light performance) and shoots 5fps stills. Also has a touchscreen.

-Just a note about the digic 5 (t4i) processor vs the digic 4 (older one)

"The new Digic 5 processor is 6X faster and creates 75% less noise than the Digic 4 processor"

Keep in mind that the digic 5 is the first Digic generation to be designed from the ground up for dealing with HD video and stills processing in the same camera

Well, I stand corrected, that might be a reason to go 4i over 2/3i

That's the same processor as the 60d and 7d, correct?

and we all know how well those dual digic 4's handle noise!

(hint: they don't handle it well at all)
