Debate: The Greatest Ski of All Time

It was the 2014 Line SFB.

Unmatched before or since in all-mountain versatility, powder & park capable and it'll even hold a carve if you really want it to. Combined with one of the greatest graphics to come out of Pollard's studio. The ultimate single ski quiver.

I am objectively, universally correct about this.

Honourable mentions: the Horror Hellbents.

Basic answer but Kartel 108. The last version of it before it became the Jeffery. (The kartel graphic was better and the name sounds cooler)

The Kartels also looked dope

Black Crows Atris. 100% without any shred of doubt. 2019 graphic.

Respectfully disagree. Not calling Kartel or Jeffrey 108's the best ever, but after skiing them and the Atris I found the Kartels/Jeffs did everything just a little better, although I will admit out of every other 100-110 freestyle ski I've been on the Atris was my second favorite.

Obviously everyone has a different opinion but one of the goat skis for me were 2010 rossignol s3s. I could ski park in the east every day and ski the whole mountain when I went to whistler. My first pair of rockered skis I tried and they were so nice to butter (I used to want to be max hill so bad but I couldn’t flex after bangs like him) but still could handle basically whatever. I haven’t skied on a full camber ski since I got those except for the odd day I’m on race skis cause it’s sheet ice and I have to work.

Max Hill was one of my biggest inspirations yo, big facts

Rossignol S7. The honeycomb makes the ski 76% lighter and it has this new thing called rocker - every rental employer

Moment Chipotle Banana. No ski before or since can stomp like that, surf in soft snow, and still rip cord if necessary. Rocketed skis should be stiff. Carston Oliver knee what he was doing when he created them.

Close, but id have to give it to the Gotama.

Close but I'd say the Mantra... just not for most people on this site.

100% agree about the SFB, but I'd put the Opus in front of it.

Mine personally is the Atomic Blog. First fat ski that convinced me 100mm+ waisted skis aren’t just for powder. They ripped everything you could throw at them and rode park better than some park skis. I wish I could find another pair.

Gotamas are super dope, I wish they still existed in an updated version

Dude if the mantra had a full twin they’d prob be my daily park/resort ski. I’m just not at all ready to give up The Switch

The new SFBs are by far the most fun ski I've ever been on. Unless you're on straight ice they charge in pretty much any terrain even tight east coast glades. Only taken a few runs through the park on them but they definitely do the job there too, maybe just a few mm thinner and they would be perfect.

The original Jeffreys are perfect in every way. I dismounted them a few years ago to try some different sticks but will be remounting them next year.

4FRNT CRJ. RIP

Although I cant call it a 1 ski quiver the CRJ is a badass ski. I have a pair in 188 and it is super nimble and playful in deep snow. They swing really well and slarve in tight chutes too. The tails especially are perfectly crafted. There have been multiple occasions where I got backseat on a landing and they just kind of prop you back upright in a weird way. They do fall apart pretty fast on choppy snow and dont carve well though.

CR was one of the coolest guys I ever met. I happened to run into him at a demo at CU Boulder when he first got signed to 4FRNT. He was super chill and legit stoked they let him build his own pro model. One of the most humble and down to earth pros you will ever meet and it was awesome he took the time to just chat. It sounds weird but i think about that almost every time I pull them out of my car at the mountain.

Ok so i was at the Corbetts store a few years ago, and I found these pair of skis. Idk which brand they were but there was some sick zeus graphics. best art ive seen yet.

Man take mine off my hands, they're wasting away in my garage!

Also, 2009 K2 Obsethed have been my go to for years and I wouldn't change a thing about them.

I will shamelessly say that the J Skis Metal is my favorite, and most versatile ski ever (I live in WA). Haters will hate on J, but the metal shape is like a slightly more directional Bacon, and the metal laminate actually makes it more versatile for larger charging-focused skiers like me.

My smaller buddies love the flex of the bacon though, really can't go wrong with a nice twin in the 105 range

Honorable mention goes to the Volkl Bridge (2011 redesign version)...incredible park ski that absolutely railed carves, loved those. Probably the best east coast ski of all time

Are you talking about the arv 116s?

The 2016 Armada TST, not the most popular ski of its time but goddamn I loved ripping em

Have to agree, Armada killed it with the TST. Ive had 2 pairs of the 2013s and still ride em to this day (though ive replaced with the Invictus 108 Ti mostly). The TST floated like a JJ in pow but was solid and easily carvable on the groomers. It was a true and uncompromising quiver killer.
