So what’s everyone expecting? I truly expect a shit show honestly. Turning it into a drinking game. Every time an old guy says dumb shit I’m taking a drink.

You're going to die from alcohol poisoning, 90 straight minutes of two dementia patients arguing.

100% you’re right. A few mins in immediately knew I’d have to pace myself. One guy looks lost but semi knows what he’s talking about. The solid ideas are there but the words ain’t coming out right. The other is just spewing nonsense and making funny faces. Trump makes Biden look pale as fuck.

Why do u Guys Only have 2 political parties

We have more, it's just these are the top two parties.

I didn't watch, I was watching the Celine Dion movie that just released.

But there are Only 2 parties in the senate right

Didnt watch it but turned on the news when I got home. All the headlines were...

"BIDEN EMBARASSES HIMSELF"

"DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN A TAILSPIN"

"DEMS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO NOW"

So I turned it off and will try not to think about either of these losers until November. I hate Trump, I hate Joe Biden. Everything in this country is backwards. We're fucked.

Why watch that dumpster fire when The Bear season 3 is out

I love The Bear but hate that Hulu still drops the whole season at once.

Great fuckin soundtrack too

if a third party exceeds 5% of the popular vote they receive federal funding next election. just saying

It's a shame that RFK isn't attached to a party. The Libertarian candidate is a clown and Jill Stein still lives in her own little fantasyland. I don't see any third party coming close to 5% this year

Rfk is a crack pot with a worm in his brain. Useless no major party wants him. His own family denounced him.

hopefully we get some serious candidates after these two old fucks can't talk anymore.

I’ve been trying to think if Biden was replaced who would the democrats put up. I really can’t think of anyone that the country would get behind.

He's never held any form of public office. His approach to immigration is effectively "let them all in" because cheap labor is good for business. He wants to decriminalize all drugs. He supports sex change operations for children. He wants to end all support for Ukraine and Israel.

He's the typical libertarian party idealogue with no concept of nuance. I voted libertarian in the past 2 elections (even though Jorgensen was a clown too), but i will not be voting for them again until they nominate someone with more realistic, moderate policy.

They would put up Newsom, but he would be a worse choice than either Biden or Trump. He's the biggest snake in national politics, but the media loves him because he's (D)ifferent.

honestly we need a nice moderate candidate, this extreme left and right doesn't benefit the majority.

They wouldn’t put up him up for exactly the reasons you mentioned. Media may love him but overall approval across the country is super low. He’s great for California. He’s not going to win the whole country’s majority vote.

hate to break it to you but if you support drug criminalization and increased foreign involvement you were never libertarian

It’s probably the main reason they didn’t do it to begin with. The last time the dems had a primary Biden won mostly because no one else was qualified and the left wing base got to parade around about how unprepared they were to govern.

I used to support total drug decriminalization, but having seen the results of that in Oregon, i now only support it for certain drugs.

As for the foreign aid, i see no reason we can't continue giving old equipment to countries like Ukraine when they're fighting our enemies. The return on investment is huge when it's not our boots on the ground. There's also no reason we cant continue selling new equipment to countries like Israel. The defense industry is one of the few industries where we're still exporting manufactured goods.

We do, however, need to reevaluate why we keep giving billions in free aid to countries that are really shitty allies (israel, pakistan, turkey, saudi, philippines, etc.) And why we're committed to defending countries that don't even make an effort to defend themselves (i.e. Canada and Germany)

Dems r cooked. I feel at blame since I voted for Joe years ago but then I liked him for being a moderate democrat, I wasn’t thinking about 6-7 years into the future planning this fukt scenario

I have to say, it’s really ironic that my political news feed has gone silent from last night. News stations that regularly report on “we got Trump on charges that will stick this time” are probably suddenly actually covering world events, or doing news stories on Chinese mystery snails

The African snails are wild. Literally.

fair enough. although i still don't think i'll ever be sold on selling weapons overseas. even if they end up in the "right" hands to begin with we inevitably see pictures of taliban and friends strapped up with US equipment years after the fact

my main support for oliver comes from his focus on real domestic problems with our justice and tax systems rather than the irrelevant shit flinging about social issues and golf scores i watched last night

I couldn’t roll my eyes back any farther into my skull when they started the golf bullshit.

I find it hilarious at people calling RFK a crack pot over those two dumbasses on stage.

You might want to take a look at yourselves if you think the environmental lawyer would be the crackpot on that stage.

He's a complete lunatic yet eminently more qualified than either of the old dudes and his politics are wacky yet somehow he has fewer bad takes than either of the dominant parties. It's a terrible situation.

I'm predicting record low turn out.

Well, when you say non-scientific shit like he says, and legitimately had a worm in your brain, then yeah... youre kinda a crackpot.

Trump and Biden aren't as much straight crackpots... Trump is just an old, sociopathic grifter who only wants the job for clout, and Biden is like 2 years older than Trump - but at least he's trying to ACTUALLY bring back manufacturing jobs.
