that's a horrible thing to say. on comcast.net's homepage you can get footage of the waves coming in from the ocean and slamming into the beach / hotels / cars / streets / people.

R.I.P., i always wanted to ride a Tsunami on a surfboard, but this destruction is unheard of. We're complaining about 1000 dead in Iraq, and yet 23,000 people just died from water. Priorities.

The worst part is that the bullshit media that America has is hardly covering it at all. Not to belittle the huricanes in FLorida but we spent two weeks covering those things and those were not even close to being as destructive as these earthquakes but the media doesn't give a shit.

ya, I'm in Thailand. I was in Phucket and Krabi about a month and a half ago. The first row of buildings in Krabi is literally gone. As in not there. Everything else is damaged heavily. The hotel I stayed in is gone. More than 800 dead in Thailand alone....lot's of them being European Canadian and American. That hardly compares to Sri Lanka, though, where more than 10,000 are dead. It's unfortunate that not many people even care. I dont want to sound like I'm an asshole, but people care less about these kinds of events than 9/11. Not that 9/11 wasnt a terrible tragedy, but the death toll doesnt even compare to this. It's unbelievable that this happened.

Unfortunatly, the King and Prime Minister here in Bangkok have cancelled all New Years celebrations. I dont blame them.

It's hard to imagine. 24,000 people. Gone. It's unbelievable. ya'll should donate money. I'm donating money and blood, which is desperatly needed.

Whoa, that's insane. Kinda cool that something like that can happen, but unfortunate that it killed people. Reminds me of Alaska, but there was hardly anyone living here to die.
