Death to the Terrain Park as we Know it

from reading his stuff it sounds like he cares about everyone and really wants to see more thought and process going into jump building to make jumps safer so more skiers/boarders don't end up like he is. whine whine whine but everyone will benefit from safer jump construction.
 
Right, now if you would please explain how to build a 30 foot long tabletop jump that is safe for hitting at 3 times the correct amount of speed, and overshooting the landing by 100 feet or so.
 
Not all resorts in the L. MI are doing away with jumps. Only the bigger ones like Boyne, Nubs, and Crystal. Why, because they are scared. The insurance companies have and continue to support the builders and given the 0k to build tabletops. The excuse of insurance, or in Nubs case, the cost of building and maintaining them, is just PR jumbo. Just don;t go there.

VAIL RESORTS: Breck, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek, Heavnely, and A-Basin, I know you know this. It includes all of these. That is bs though, Breck and Keystone will never do away with their parks.

k i havent had time to read through the rest of the thread but a few facts i just learned from keystone's risk management seminar by NSAA:

The jury consisted of 2 men and the rest were women (who are more sympathetic)

The plantiff's mother was in court every day, while the actual plantiff was only in court on the day he testified

The plantiff made a website about his tradgedy which has recieved 900,000 visitors/hits so far.

The jump he hit was 40ft from lip to knuckle. He landed at 110ft (from lip).

You'd have to be going hella fast and be quite stupid to overshoot a 40ft table by 70 ft...

I mean 110ft!!! thats like hitting chads gap!

Ok well then i could sue park city cause i lost it off a jump there and broke my back people need to learn to fucking learn to take responsibility for there own actions everyone wants money and no one is willing to take the blame. The world is turing retarded
 
Its not just america. I'd lump socialism and communism (universal healthcare) into the group of people who don't want to take responsibilty for themselves. But I agree, way too many people have this gross sense of entitlement and lack and logic or reason with regards to responsibilty. Also, that artcile didn't specify whether the 14 mil was the amount the POS recieved or if that was the amount to be split with him and his lawyer.

definitely was not a 40ft table, though it wouldn't be the first time the size of the table has been exaggerated (which is something i've actually seen mountains do on their websites). it also fails to mention that he deletes all non sympathetic things posted on that site, even those well written by people who feel it was 100% his fault. as many you all know, stats are easily skewed, and his lawyer seems to have been very good at this.
 
Word is that Nub's Nob WILL have jumps this year, likely a line of step-ups about the same size as last year. Boyne, on the other hand, continues to have no balls, but their jumps were always shitty anyway, so no one really cares.
