^^well some punk songs are good, greenday didnt quite copy anyone. I used to like that music back when it was original, like Blink 182, but now its just shit about my girlfriend and im sad and lonely, but some bands are still pretty good in my opinion, like Greenday or the Sex pistols and old punk like that...

my 2 cents however: i love punk and hardcore and ska and all that good stuff. ill even venture into pop-punk if they have something interesting to say. thats the difference...theres no telling apart Simple Plan and Good Charlotte and Not By Choice and all those bands. but bands like Rise Against or blink-182...you can tell them apart. its obvious its that band...if theyre original and they get you pumped go for it. old punk is great too...Black Flag and Sex Pistols kill.

Punk is more of an ideology in my opinion. The bands under discussion don't fit into my definition of punk or its underlying ideology, thus, to me, they are not punk.

This is how I distinguish between "posers" and "the real punks." Not to mention the music isn't nearly as intense or creative (which is one of the qualities I think good punk music should have).

I'm gonna have to agree with your first statement though, Quinny. If you don't like it, don't listen to it...and I don't.

p.s. mohawks and studs don't make you punk.

listen to rise against, gob, millencolin, avenged sevenfold(they're like half punk), the matches, or billy talent... then tell me theres no good punk since 1990. The whole point of punk music is that there are tons of really good bands out there that people dont totally know about, so everyone can still have there own taste. So if u dont really like punk, like to the point where u've found ur own taste, then dont talk, cuz u dont even know what ur making fun of.
