So Ruapehu in New Zealand has had a awesum season, at one stage gettin ova 5 meters of snow which is pretty much unheard. But the season has ended on a prettty hetic note, a snowboarder died last saturday when she fell into a hole....

I supose the point of this thread is when ur on the mountain its a dangerous place so people need to be carefull and say outta ski areas that are outside your ability....

^ yeah our season has been extended due to unprecdented snow fall... its even snowed the other day so its got ankle deep powder last weekend on a 3 meter base.... They rekon the mountain will open again for chrismass/New year, in the middle of our summer...Global warming does crazzzzy shittt
 
thats crazy..i'm in Aus and our season shut down a good month ago (and it was one of the best we've had in ages)
 
What was the snow like bro? the glacier would have been sick if there was fresh snow like the website said... I was so keen to head up there last weekend, but in the middle of exams...
 
wtf? how deep/big was the hole? thats soo fucking sketchy. just random huge holes in the trails that people could fall into and die?

Yeah the holes pretty much always appear in spring cuz theres a river that runs under it.... Thats one of the reasons why the lifts close on the other side of the moutain so early...
 
snow was sick redic having a powderday this late in the season, there was a 60 foot mini JOI jump in the middle of nowhere which the groomers were working on and it was open to the public, the base on the park chairlift going up the hill had to be groomed so the chairs wouldnt touch the ground up that first hilly part, i have no idea why its closeing next weekend its so fucking sick atm r u going next weekend for closeing?
 
Wow, yeah i saw that there was 15 cm of fresh powder on the website, but i thought they were just being optimistic.... Yeah man im probly gonna head down for the day on Friday cuz i finish my exams this thursday.... U going down? my mates and I are gonna have the most epic endless ski season this year, cuz we are leaving for Banff in 2 weeks as well...
