Death lens. I am unaware of the meaning you hip lingo.

You mean a video conversion lens? Yeah, those rock. I don't have one yet, but I'll probably get a 0.42X from Adorama and put it on a cheapie 24mm Vivitar.

Sigs are really starting to bug me.

why not just call it a fish, honestly. Everyone I've talked to from fox sports to espn to hollywood call it a fish. Some people just feel the need to be different. Psh death, what a lame name. You don't die if they film you with it, you don't look dead when filmed with it. Just like you would look if a fish saw you. /rant

actually a lot of people in the skate video industry refer to it as a death lense. and skate videos use the fish eye more than anyone else

Thats what I thought, but I heard it referenced in several skate mags- 'to get into skate photography, buy xxx camera and a death lense.'

ok death lens, as gene said thats what us skateboard filmers refer to it as. it doesnt refer to all fisheyes, it specifically refers to the Century Optics Ultra Wide .3x fisheye, cause its the best fisheye avaible, and yes it costs about 600 bucks buts it worth it, i has close to a 180 degree field of view

oh i forgot to mention it will really only fit big mount cams, like the vx2000 vx1000 and gl1, but for any of you that have a home cam and want a really good fisheye, century makes what they call Ultra Compact .3x fisheye, which skateboard filmers refer to as the baby death. it is almost as good as the death, about 20 degrees less on the field of view, but its only 300 bucks, good value
