I simply went to the 4th response because that seemed to be the one most obviously filled with flaw.

Pointing out the typo was the least important part of my post.

Please explain to me how it, or any of my other points, are flawed.
 
the thing that bothers me about religion like this is that it is all based on fear. for example if you dont do good things and follow the bible (which honestly teaches good practices and I agree with alot of the things it says about how you should conduct yourself and treat others) it is completely based around the fear of not being accepted by god or going to heaven. People should have these values regardless of a reward at the end. it shouldnt matter whether there is personal benefit, you should treat people and yourself with dignity and respect (which is what i get from most of the bibles teachings if you leave out the observance of god). But instead people do all all these things because they are scared of punishment from some higher power. It shouldnt matter about punishment, do these things because YOU know they are right and it is ultimately the way you would want other people to treat you and conduct themselves, not because you wont get into heaven. Dont live in fear, live your life in the hopes of bettering yourself and the people around you because you feel it is the way people should act, not because you are told to. i hope this makes sense

well if that shit does happen fuck it. however i refuse to believe that my life is in the hands of some all knowing all powerful being. I make my own decisions for my life based on what I feel is right, not what some old book tells me I should do.
 
The greatest problem is people thinking their lives are about them. That they are in control of everything. Something that has plagued mankind since the beginning.

There were many, many of us praying and it seems it paid off. We'll see what happens this time, but I know that if judgement day comes, I will be saved.

alright, if this guy is right i going to rent a plane on may 21st and just fly across time zones in whatever direction the judgement is going, then by the time it gets to the last time zone, well both be back where we started and i will have escaped judgement day.

if you really believe this shit i feel sorry for you. thats what religions do, they keep people scarred of the almighty wizards divine powers so that they can keep you coming back, and keep sucking up your money. and when all this shit doesn't happen hes going to pull some excuse out of his ass about "how the good lord sparred us because he saved 15 % on his car insurance through geico".
