Apparently some gaper cased one of the big jumps there and died on his way to the hospital. Anyone hear anything about this?

Call me whatever you want for saying this but... Natural Selection wins again for the dude hitting the jump. I mean, how stupid could he be if he truely was a gaper... whatever. RIP.

harshe way of looking at it. unfortunetly true. most people get off with some bruised heels, or maybe a broken leg.

my teachers husband is on ski patrol and he was on scene for the crash were the kid hit the tree...apparently he never skied before and straighlined the whole run and hit a tree and broke his neck and cut his leg straight off and died on impact

i was in summit county when the first one happened, i dont understand why gappers have the need to get so out of control when they ski

honestly dude.. shits not even funny. Somebody fucking died. Have a little respect, even if he was new to skiing, its somebodies fucking life thats now gone. What the hell.

At this NZ resort, some kid straight lined into a big boulder and died, apparently there was blood everywhere and shit cause its a big volcanic rock, all sharp and shit. Too bad people die doing stuff for fun like skiing. It's classified as an extreme sport for a reason, and people have to understand that there is a risk.

i don't understand why he hit that jump. I am an experienced skier and I would never hit those 50-80 ft monsters. Just not willing to progress that far

HIS LEG WAS CUT STRAIGHT OFF BY A TREE.

thats awesome.

and yes, if it ever happens to me you can say that same thing.

If you go off a big jump and are going to case it but have no concept on how to fall, it's like falling 15-20ft. onto cement. He probably had all kinds of internal injuries.

We had a guy die last year trying to gap a set of tables. He took off on the first one after bombing it and was trying to clear the landing of the first, the flat between the tables and then land on the second sets downslope. He didnt make it.

hence the reason we need to get park passes everywhere now..i dont mind them unless im at a mountain that i dont go to a lot and i have to waste a half hour of my morning getting the freakin thing that im probly only gonna use one time

i live and charlotte so this is all over the news and the one of the guys who died at breck was on his senior class trip and his friends said he skiied at high rates of speed or something weird like that.

yea i was at breck when this happened i saw a cross next to a tree afterward idk if it was for him or what, but ti was crazy

thats horrible!!

dang, it really makes ya appreciate everything in life and bein able to ski good when somethin like that happens

i prolly just sounded really emo... and no i dont ride surface skis!!! i wouldnt degrade myself like that haha just kiddin

we had a kid hit a tree and die of internal bleeding at a real local mtn, its like 500 ft vertical max, tiny ass hill. it was a very quiet day in the lodge the next day, work sucked

in the cascade mt range area a lot of people have died from falling in volcanic gas holes and the fall usually doesn't kill them but the gas in the hole does. and the weird thing is like half of them have been ski patrols

we had a chick at my home mountain about 5 years ago die she was chewing gum while she was snowboarding choked on it and smoke her ehad on a tree it was sad cause he bro was in the freestyle club with me
