Death at Beaver Creek

It seems like these kind of deaths are happening a lot recently.. I have heard of numerous deaths of young skiers in accidents like this. Really sad.
 
The article states that, yes, he was wearing a helmet, and that the coroner has ruled the cause of death as head trauma. Witnesses saw him catch an edge and slide in to a tree on the intermediate red tail run.

I was actually just about to make a thread on this. He was a senior in my high school. He caught an edge on some ice and hit a tree; it was the first run of the day. Yes, he was wearing a helmet. Although I didn't really know him, I do know he was a super cool, all around great person. I know his sister pretty well and his girlfriend is in my graphics class. NS, please keep Rich and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.
