Dear Saga and First Drop

Please make a line of insulated outerwear as well. Sincerely, 3x Strum.

But really, I always buy Oakley right now because I love insulated, comfy stuff. If this year's First Drop were insulated I would have a full suit on pre-order. No lies.

So, please introduce an insulated line up for 2012, though that seems far off right now.

Can I get an AMEN from anyone?

haha, I am so new. I am hideous, look away!

But really, it is? Sorry, I usually ignore all threads with Saga or FD in them because kids just want to know which looks color, but for reals they are insulated? Well, that settles it then...

OMGZ should i get saga or fd???????? such a tuff decisionzzz. and im 5'4" should i get xl saga or xlt fd?

but on the real fd is insulated, fd ftw

So I just looked at their website, and all it says is "medium weight liner". That doesn't constitute insulated in my opinion. Boooooo

layering > Insulation, in my opinion

more versatile, comfortable, and better modulates body heat.

I only wear shells, even on the coldest days. I've skied in -20 F days at sugarloaf (cold, windy, icy, miserably awesome) in my north face shell with a light softshell and 1 baselayer under and been toasty all day. But to each their own. Also, having a mesh interior really does count for more warmth, it traps warm air better than a plain un-lined shell.

i always have a shell/ medium shell on and a thermal and tall tee from 32º and up. then - every 5 degrees add another tall tee. and give or take if its sunny or cloudy or snowing or not etc.

all in all both their outerwear is sick, but i would suggest going to check out Lethal Descent they ahve sick stuff man.

No... it's almost too much insulation. It's too warm in weather above freezing and you need to unzip... In -15C weather it still doesn't need anything under it, I'm guessing that's about 10F or so. It's plenty warm, buy it.

This. Nothing is less comfy than a thermal and a fleece vest underneath a shell on a pow day. Add beef jerky and brownies and get the perfect day of skiing

like he said it all depends on your personal prefernce.

For myself i am really skinny and get cold real easily so i need an insulted jacket. But shells are much more versitile for hiking/ skiing pow because it is so much easier to take off layers or apply layers.

i usualy go just a base layer and a hoodie (no jacket) on days -7c and warmer and never realy get cold, even at -25c with just a thermal and jacket, so insulation isnt that important to me

Always took out the inside on jackets before, I love shells, they feel better and with good layering are much better then insulated.

i ride NY with a non insulated jacket, and always have. never been cold. just throw some t-shirts on underneath

i think its the pure energy given off by some sort of chemical reaction caused when snow makes contact with you

ya i had a big insulated coat, but i could only wear it in like january, and even then just like 1 shirt under it.

a few layers are all you need underneath as long as it is windproof, because that way your body heat keeps you warm, and the wind doesn't get in, and you can rock it all season
