You, and many other people should accept the fact that someone they didn't vote for will be in the White House so why not make the most of it and try to keep this country united. Give him the benefit of the doubt...
 
i wrote a paper on the elections recently and i saw both websites. i was then disappointed that Barack had such good plans but in every rally speech we saw on TV for the first part of his campaign said practically nothing but his change rhetoric and what not.

but its okay, i support him now. i used to hate both candidates if youre wondering.

besides showing that you can point out a minor detail my point remains the same, you can't tell what Obama will do or what he will spend money on because he hasn't gotten into office yet, where as Bush has been in the office for 8 years and done nothing but spend billions of dollars on a war that could of been avoided.

Actually, Obama has told us what he wants to spend money on, and most of it is bullshit. With Washington being bluer than a village full of smurfs, I'm not sure he'll have much trouble passing things either.

WRONG!! Salt Lake and Summit counties both voted Democrat, so I say we jump ship and join Nuevo California. You can keep Pow Mtn. and The Basin, I wont miss 'em.

It so sad to see how fucked up some of the people are in this country, and they dont even care about shit except for sitting on there couch drinking beer and shooting guns. I mean they dont even need to vote because all they do is sit there. They only thing they need a president for is maybe to lower the prices on ammo and beer. It really makes the US look like a fucking shit hole.
 
I know this is all way off topic, but this kid just cracks me up. Gravity is still a theory, as I am sure it always will be. So you're saying all conservatives are rednecks???? Everyone I know who voted for McCain knows exactly why. A large percentage of people who voted for Obama voted for him because the media has trained them to hate the republicans and bush, and blame most bad things that happen on them. Or because he is black, says "change" alot, and is a good speaker.
 
do you know what theory means in scientific terms? It is " a plausible or scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles offered to explain phenomena." It is the elevation of a hypothesis because of a preponderance of evidence and an acceptance by the scientific community as a whole.

actually, many people who vote conservative do so because they are intelligent, rational, and wealthy people, who wish to hold on to more of their assets, therefore vote for the more fiscally conservative side of things. which in this election applied to neither of the candidates as they were both liberal as fuck, but hey, fuck it, we got the more liberal of the two, and we'll see how it works out. we should ban obama/mccain talk until he has spent at least a year in office.

i'm saying this despite it's utter futility. american national pride is a remnant of world war 2, and a stupid one at that. as far as i've ever read, nationalism was generally accepted as a bad idea as soon as hitler started bopping jews. its considered a given in history/social sciences/art... you name it. it is assumed that discrimination based on local pride, supported by leaders of a threatened class, can only lead to quite unnecessary violence. the development we've actually made is to globalization. say what you will about it; it is probably destroying the world in its physical/industrial form but Friedman was generally right that one guy with a Big Mac is less likely to kill another guy with a Big Mac. basically the point is acceptance and reconcilliation. peaceful compromise. that's how you get things done. all that 'power of pride' 'we're gonna get you because we're america' bullshit doesn't mean a thing and doesn't do anyone any good. and it does seem a lot more prevalent on the "red" side of the fence.

i'm sure that's much too long a paragraph to be read on ns, but i felt like it should be said, so i did.

that post was fantastic though, though pointless in any real sense.
