We live in America/Canada. Not Ethiopia. The water that comes from your kitchen sink is perfectly fucking fine to drink. In fact most of your bottled waters are tap. Your not going to get sick. Your not going to die. So stop acting like tap water is poison. Not to anyone specific on NS, just something that pisses me off. /rant

you know how people are these days, paranoid about everything that may be "harmful" to their kids. a few of my family members live strictly organic, from food to shampoo. if someone says your tap water isnt 100% clean, they are going to buy a brita..that aint gonna change..tons of people still drink from their tap
 
actually, shale drilling is fuckin up the east right now. and a lot of people are on well water which has very high lead, chlorine and sometimes sulfur content. youre right we dont live in africa, but we still shit in our drinking water.
 
Well I disagree.
I have a well. That said well started getting all this shit seeping into it. We got it tested and it IS harmful if you drink it.

nah well water is fine as long as you have a filtering system.. my brother has a well in his house and the water passes thru four filters before it even comes close to a tap. actually in most cases filtered well water is cleaner then both tap and bottled water
 
i totally agree, bottled water is a waste of money. i bought one of those cheap, non breakable, go green bottles and havent bought a bottle of water in a year.
 
well if you want to get all smart then i think so... hahabut yeah i know what your talking about well water tastes so fresh stupid people are killing the planet and putting a huge environmental weight on future generations backs
 
well i have well water at both of my houses (mom and dads). at my moms house we have a water cooler that holds like 5 gallon bottles at once, not sure of the cost of that. but at my dads, we just refrigerate a brita water filter. works like a charm
 
well in some areas such as mine there are high levels of arsenic in the water, arsenic can lead to cancer, cancer can lead to death, do i want to die no i dont

well the 5 gallon things arnt bad because they get washed and refilled without haveing to be ground up and molded again (well in canada)
 
some people's tap water tastes like shit.

mine however is god's own urine. Never drink bottled water when i'm in my house.
 
There are very limited regulations on bottled water, tap water has many regulations, making it in my opinion safer to drink, and not to sound like a tree hugger but trucking bottled water all over the country wastes energy, and disposing of the bottles is a problem, the only thing bottled water has got going for it is the fact that it is convenient, and at those times drink it, but otherwise, theres no point in drinking it

but I also drink straight from the faucet. I think people should just be aware that if the water in their area is drinkable then why not drink it? Think about all the countries across the globe that don't have this privilege.
