HATE it when ppl talk while filming. Almost my biggest pet peeve. When the homies want clips I shut the hell up n just listen to the rail asmr, then send clips ASAP

I don’t think you can be too picky about your clips if your homie is offering to film for you. If someone is missing a run to film you they can celebrate if they want.

I guess its about context and how you are going to use the video in post production. But a cheer once in a while says a lot about the background story of the shot. I love to do unexpected stuff; just tell my buddies to not miss this shot, and send it to their surprise. The best is the sound of the jaw being dropped.

I think if we’re talking insta clips then yes the filmer should be quiet. But thinking ab all the street movies I love, especially ON3P4, roasted, stain, etc. A lot of shots are even more dope in my opinion because the filmer gets so hype. I think it helps the average viewer who doesn’t know a ton about skiing, get a grasp on how hard what they just saw is. And I’m basing this off of my own experience with skating, I can barely Ollie but enjoy some good skate content on IG and such, and a lot of the time I don’t know how hard a trick is. But when the filmer goes nuts or everyone at the park gets hype, I know it was dope. On top of that, the ender clip in ON3P4 where krypto does the wallie 2 on pretz 2 and forster and siver start screaming, it just makes the clip, probably one of my favorite shots ever, might not be if the boys weren’t so stoked for him.

homie stoke is a GOOD thing and yes if someone’s taking time out of their own skiing to film you then that’s amazing and easier said than done. But the respect can kinda go both ways. Like I said nothing wrong with hype in a few shots AS THE SKIER LANDS. Just gets annoying when it’s like every shot as they land. it gets annoyingly repetitive if that makes sense. But every shot here and there yeah, like others said, adds some emotion to it.
street clips are more excused, I think homie hype adds a better touch than it does in park clips. But LIKE I SAID nothing wrong with the homie hype in a few clips if it’s like a park edit or something. But when you hear it more often than not just gets annoying as hell.
tldr: audial (idek if that’s a word) importance of street clips : the whole environment
audial importance of park clips : mostly the skier, and homies here and there

Filmer hype works in street clips because they just watched their friend beat tf out of themselves for hours trying to get a clip.
Making coyote noises when your friend does a front 2 off a fat tube mid park run is different.
Conclusion: I don't give a fuck. Do whatver you want. Ski naked. Light yourself on fire or whatever . I do not care.

I have fiber at my current place, so I can get home and sort a full days shoot and have 60+gb uploaded in like 30 minutes or less of being home if I have nothing else going on. The sorting is the only thing that takes the time. They get uploaded in a few minutes. I'm pretty efficient at sorting at this point but I also don't want to rush because I don't want to accidently delete someone's shot or a clip they wanted to see (like a good attempt they can learn from).
