Dear every film company except Level, Sherpas, and maybe Sweetgrass.

Put your shit out on Vimeo already!

I don't have any apple devices.

I don't use iTunes.

I don't want a physical copy of your movie.

Whatever paid download service you use now looks like ass *cough*Poorboyz*cough*

Seriously guys, their service is idiot proof, it's easier than torrenting, it's easier than any other way to get your movie out there besides putting it on NS for free. You'll sell more copies and make more money.

I'm with you OP!

I bought one ski movie from itunes a while back and all I could do was watch it with itunes. But that player sucks, and also I wanted to copy the movie I bought on my archos so I could watch it during a long trip, I couldn't, etc. I was mad.

Long story short, fuck you apple. I promised myself never to buy anything else from itunes, and I never did.

So if you're not going to put your movie somewhere else, I'm not buying it.

This is an interesting question.

I hate that Apple takes so much of a cut for their platform, so maybe Vimeo is the option. Who knows.

You'd think they'd be able to offer a download of it right on their website for the same price so we could give them more money for their hard work.

Yeah I've never understood why companies can't do this. I think 4bi9 did a few years back?

Probably has to do with legal/copyright issues but I would way rather have all my money go to the company than just a portion

Totally agree, it's bullshit that what little money film companies make is cut by distribution platforms...I know (or I'm fairly certain) buying a hard copy is the most profitable for the company and that's the way I usually go but sometimes you're just so stoked and you need to see it now and a download is the easiest way. Vimeo seems pretty legit, I know they're copy of less was a couple more dollars than iTunes, I don't really know which platform is more profitable for the film company but maybe they could let us in on that info? Im sure the NS crowd agrees they would rather give twenty dollars for a .mov file downloaded off a companies website than fifteen to iTunes where the company only gets a fraction.

last years and the year before's pour boys vids, sherpas and sweetgrass are on netflix dont know if that helps

YES. I feel the same as OP. I don't own any Apple devices and don't use iTunes, and since I live in Finland, getting dvd's is not so easy because of all the shipping costs etc. I want to see all these new movies but it's just so damn complicated.
