DEAR EMO, PLEASE DIE!!!

I know belongs in the non-ski gab but wtf, the season's over and I want to rant.

I don't really have a problem with skiers wearing tighter pants or whatever, each to his own on the mtn.

However, it seems like the ranks of emo kids at my college are growing at an alarming rate, it's like a damn infestation of boys wearing girl jeans, girls looking like boys, thrift shirts, bad haircuts w several colors, a caribiner w their keys on it hanging from a beltloop, vans w skulls on them and that "ohh life is so hard being me" attitude as they flip the hair out of their face and smoke a flavored cigarrette.

HOW LONG IS THIS SHIT GOING TO LAST??? It's one of the worst forms of conformity right now in my opinion.

At first I was like, wtf ya know, some emo music is cool and you can do whatever you like, but somehow, the whole culture started to annoy me.

Here's the main reason emo SUCKS. These kids are claiming aspects of a retro and post punk culture they have no roots in, it's just being packaged and sold to them by the Hot Topic. They already killed punk, I hope emo dies next.

OK rant over. Is this happening anywhere else???

i went to the V festival this weekend to see Rise Against

ANYWAYS!!

fucking..the whole crowd...15 year old emo kids. it was hilarious. we just walked around and asked, "YOURE here to see my chemical romance arent you!?" and then found out that 15 year old emo kids do NOT know how to mosh. at all. they just die. which i suppose theyre striving towards anyways

Punk is different from Emo.

Punk is legit, Emo is little whinny babies who can't cope.

that new trned is gorwing lately, the one where the poeple walk around dressing like little kids with their mcdonalds happy meal toys hanging off their necklasses and baby pacifier's and very rediculously bright colours, and guys with make up on.

I don't mind that one as much as the emo'ish trends though.

i hate emos im gettin more and more impatient with them im just gonna start walkin up to them and cuttin they're wrist for them it will be like doin them a favor u know.....hahahaha

the other day i saw a kid wearing THE TIGHTEST pair of jeans ive ever seen on a dude and was wearing a pink tall tee, it was weeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiirrrdd

punk is pretty lame man, anything that includes going to a concert to beat the shit out of people and say its a good time has something awefully wrong with them.

punk is definately the shit bro. hell most of skiing back in the days of early morrison etc. was all punk music and stuff...

Tight pants doesn't mean they are emo. Go somewhere out of the US, when i was in rome EVERY SINGLE local has tight pants and tight shirts. Its just a fashon fad it will end just ignore it.

my highschool is like that, so many frickin emos its fucking stupid I even saw one with tight pajamas

i donno what the fuck you guys are talking about, i haven't seen any emos in almost a year. Indie style is super similar but its more 80's and brightly coloured...but still got tight pants and faggoty fashion wierd shit. I like it though.  Its more interesting than wanna be G-up white boy hip hop possers.

who cares what people wear, go about your life, and let them be themselves. They probably think your a dumbass in some way. Everyone of you should grow up and realize people have there own personalities and sport there styles because that is there method of self experession. And you sitting hear bagging on someone else because of your own style is super lame, considering most of us should probably be bagged on for what styles we have. But thank god we live in a place where what ever style we sport is aloud and where people in most cases are respected as a person for who they are. Alot of people on here need to gain enough respect for themselves and gain some self confidence and let everyone be themselves.

Emo culture is just rediculous to me. That's my opinion. I'm not going to beat anyone up for being emo, I have friends who claim that indie scene pretty hard(unfortunately) but I'm going to call it a spineless self indulgence and mock it until it's dead.

I've been to quite a few "punk" shows... and I've never beat the shit out of someone, or had the shit beat out of me.

When I saw Face to Face and Bouncing Souls, I felt totally stoked, inspired, and energized by the experience and made some new friends. Not to mention I got chills when Pennywise played Bro Hymn and the whole crowd was arm in arm belting it out.

Sure I've gotten bruised up pretty good in a pit but those were my fav shows. The kids who go to beat people up are either skinhead tools who do that at every show with fast music or jocks that go w their football team to beat up punk kids, and I've seen some jocks get fucked up by hardcore punk kids at a Rancid show for picking fights, who wouldn't want to see that?

Believe it or not, there is a positive vibe and an unwritten code among fans at shows, hopefully somebody knows what I'm talking about.

Oh and FUCK emo, they are the new hippies.

Amen.

I dont have any problem with emo people or anyone who dresses differently what so ever. Now I might come off sounding a little contradicting after reading my first post in this thread. but the only problem ive ever had with the whole emo lifestyle is that there are so many dumbasses out there who have nothing better to do other than to make fun of eveyrhting they see.

the fact that these "dumbasses" often try to categorize me or anyone else into that whole being emo trend just because i wear tight pants really bugs me. even though i've been reppin the tight pants/skinny jeans naturally for all 20 years of my life. im pretty much a perfectly normal guy with who isnt any different than any of you, accept I wear tight pants. I dont even look emo, nothing else about me can be related to emo at all.

I fail to see how my pants can determine my lifestyle.

^^^Some of you guys just don't get it, you're just looking for an excuse to post your duechebag "everybody is cool" wisdom, newsflash, not everyone is cool, and a trendy culture that teaches kids it's okay to indulge your lazy self pity and look like an asshat should die. I have nothing against other people, I just hate the scene.

Punk was rockin tight pants before your birth and they still do, that's not what I'm talking about, even though I prefer to let my balls breathe, a little blood circulation is good for them.

OK, so you want me to spell it out for some of you pretending like you don't know EXACTLY what I'm talking about, here you go. Once again FUCK emo.

you can't hate on kids for dressing like fags who listen to rise against, have you seen a rise against music video lately? it is weird how people cling to that shit though

I dunno where I stand on the whole emo thing.

I think it's important to have your own style and way of expressing yourself, but I think it can be taken too far.

I dig alot of the indie scene though, artsy and cool is what I'm about, not everyone wants to walk around in pants that are 3 sizes too large and jerseys...I mean seriously.

Just live and let live, they'll grow out of the 'I hate the world, and my life is a dark abyss' phase. It's just a way of getting feelings out, once they mature a bit they'll realize that the world looks alot better once you stop staring at your feet.
