Dear Canadians

I recently took a trip to canada to go fishing in lake of the woods. I am incredibly jealous of some of the things that you have, including but not limited to: a drinking age of 19 which the bar tenders readily broke my serving me, Smarties chocolate candies, Kokanee glaicer beer, and cuban cigars, which last for about 45 minutes. Yeah canada is an awesome place.

we have smarties, but they arent like yours, they are chalky candy, its not chocolate. Oh, and another sweet thing, we had guided fishing, and aparently around where we were, cigs cost like 11 canadian bucks per pack of 25, so we brought a carton of cigs, and we could pay for part of our tip to our fishing guide, who smokes heavily, in cigs

actually we talked to our guide about that, he says the system isnt much better , he said for people in rural areas it sucks the fatty, they have to travel hours for something as simple as dialisis

well its free cuz we pay taxes and dont get insurance and we pay social security which everyone on this site will never see

no...we pay more in tax's because of the healthcare...you wouldnt pay the same amount in tax's because each country gets different things...

Woah woah woah, theres CHOCOLATE smarty's?!!?! Where did these come from and why don't we have them?!

i never knew that there was such thing as smarties without chocolate

WOW you learn something new every day

yes canada is sick but i really wouldnt mind a few more dollars taken out of my check if i got health insurance for it the gov is gonna rape me for about 7500 dollars this year it really sucks i got a lot of things i could be doing with that money

Wow I never thought smarties could be made of something else... anyone want to take a picture of half smarties! that would be great for my culture!

i have to play soccer up there a couple of times this coming season. the refs up there suck

The average Canadian pays 5% more in taxes. I'd say it's worth it for the healthcare alone. To not have to worry about money when you need to go to the doc is prime. And it's not just because of healthcare...it's due to that and all the social systems the gov't supports.

We do pay for it out of taxes...but I'd rather pay marginally more in taxes than worry about pulling $10,000-20,000 out of my ass for an ACL surgery.

are canadian smarties just like m&m's

the canadian ones look so much better :)

no m&m's are differnt than canadian smarties, although super similar, i think the canadian smarties taste diffenrt, they remind me of being a kid.  And they aren't liek those american smarties, those are called rocketpops or something here.

k well im gonna figure this out...

in canada, these are called rockets

in canada, these are called smarties

they are not the same as m&ms. m&ms use better quality chocolate and have a different taste

in america im guessing these are smarties

and you have nothing equivalent to the smartie we have.

soooo in turn, we must have the dominant candies

the one thing i loved about the states was Jujifruit. man i went through countless boxes of that stuff. i saw it on seinfeld and tried it as soon as i crossed the boarder.

its like ju-jubes but wayyyy better.

I figured you were Canadian...I was just taking it a step further. I was saying: yes, we pay for it in taxes, but for the marginal 5% I'd rather not have to worry about pulling $10,000-20,000 out of my ass for ACL surgery.

The 5% is for more than healthcare was the other point.

Cmon guys. Let's face it. Smarties are basically m&ms. Only there's no m on them.

PS we pay way more for liquor. Downside.

ya, but we dont have stuff like lemon heads, and those choclate things with caramel in them, that break your braces good. But do you americans have ketchup chips? I always forget to look when i go there. OOOOh and american ice tea, tastes like poop. Im going down to the US in a couple days, so ill bring a few packs of canadian smarties to bargain people with. I like american greasy food better.
