Didn't mean to be so aggressive honestly. Just have seen some ignorant shit on facebook especially. I guess we'll just see what happens. I'll check out the thread though.
No worries. I get where you are coming from. Honestly, I would check out the thread. Take everything with a grain of salt, remember that some of these people have had dealings with Dean in the past and not all of them have been pleasant, but what you will not find are a bunch of people who are saying it is all a conspiracy against him. And these are people who are older than the Newschoolers crowd, many of them came up watching Dean, McConkey and Kreitler the way lots of these kids watched Wallisch. Honestly his online rants, which you can find at the beginning of the thread, really do not paint a stable picture. They actually could probably be used to show his mental state.
Like I said, we don't know the whole story, but it certainly does not look good. I am going to try to limit the details on this, because they really are not the point, but we bought a home a few years ago. Several months before we bought the home we had to get out of another one after signing the contingencies. We had done a ton of research about price, we had a strong idea of the market, but we listened to our real estate agent and thought we could trust her. It turned out there was lots of non-permitted work on the house, I'm talking about stuff like knocking down interior walls, stuff that REALLY needs to be permitted. The guy who sold it to us was a house flipper and a sleazebag, he claimed there was no work done without permit that he knew of. The house was built in 1960, and there were no permits on the house. He had done serious work, with no permits, and he knew it. He had purchased the home nine months before putting it on the market, then he put the home on the market for 40 percent more than he had purchased it for. Home in Newport Beach had NOT gone up by 40 percent in the nine months and the guy knew it. The only way he would have been able to justify such a price increase would be with significant work done. We found out he had a significant outstanding loan to a construction company. Our attorney told us that while we would win in court, he had lied on the disclosures about lots of things, it would not go to trial for six months, during which time we would be tied up. She also told us that we would probably never get legal fees from him, he had about six different LLCs, even though we would win in court. We ended up going to mediation with the guy and paying him a few thousand to get out of the contingencies. It was an expensive lesson, when we did buy our house we made sure EVERYTHING was permitted.
The point is that we went to mediation to solve our differences with the scumbag, and we SURE AS FUCK DID NOT BRING AN AR-15 to mediation. Once again, I don't know the whole story, it is possible Dean is telling the truth here, but in real estate disputes you go through the proper legal channels. If you feel the need to bring a serious weapon to confront someone about a real estate transaction, well that is some pretty serious evidence that you should be going through the proper legal channels. Just the fact that he felt the need to bring a gun is a pretty compelling argument for not going to where he was.
To be clear, I don't know what happened. He is innocent until proven guilty, but at this point it looks pretty bad from what is being reported. To the younger people here, in real estate transactions, and other such issues, if you think you need a gun when you are going to confront someone about a dispute that is some pretty serious evidence that you need to get the proper authorities involved. If you feel you need a gun to be safe then you probably should not be there in the first place. One again, I'm not presuming to know what happened. But there is no reason to be in this situation in the first place. Unless someone has kidnapped your wife/girlfriend/child/family member you really should not be going over there with a gun, and even in that case it is a situation best left to the professionals. One of the issues with mental illness is that people with these issues often think there are conspiracies out to get them, meaning that they can't go through the proper channels. That is one of the things that can lead to this type of situation.
Anyway, this is sad and fucked up all the way around.
