Dealing with sun burns

Got a super bad burn at closing day this weekend. Anyone have any tips for helping it? I've been using Solarcaine but my nose is peeling like a bitch

aloe vera gel just keep rubbing it on every few hours.

totally forgot to put sunblock on my legs at the beach last year and fucked my legs up pretty good, put a TON of aloe on it and it never peeled surprisingly.

It sounds super gross and it is super gross, but put sour cream on your sunburn. Helps so much!!!!! Not lying. I get really bad burns to the point where I blister. The best thing I've found so far is sour cream or an oatmeal bath.

I second this. i used sour cream once after i got roasted in mexico one year. literally a miracle

note: also works if you eat something super spicy

holy shit lol.

Since yours is already peeling OP, there's not much you can do. Your best bet is to keep it moisturized as often as possible with aloe or after sun lotion.

You don't know pain until you have the ants crawling under your skin, blistering sun burn. Never fucking again will I let that happen to me haha.

aloe vera is the best thing i've used for treating bad burns. it also helps if you keep the bottle cool in the fridge or something..doesn't really help the burn much, but it feels good on your skin.

along with that, staying hydrated is a major key. i've found it helps burns to heal a bit faster and you also don't feel as shitty

As you've probably already guessed. Aloe works well,

Cold baths are nice as well. A cup of cider vinegar works really well as well to balance PH.

Vitamin E supplements will work as well.

But apart from that, generally just time will heal it. Avoid rubbing it against anything grainy.

+1 to aloe vera, I've only lobstered out once in my life..but that was enough

haven't been outside since

Avid indoorsman

Just keep perling the skin until it wont peel anymore

Well I'm a pale kid that enjoys being outdoors.

Aloe and staying hydrated are key. Drink lots of water.

I'm extremely pale and live at the beach in the summer. No matter how much sunscreen I put on I always fry the first few times I'm out.

Soaking a washcloth or paper towels with milk and then holding it on your skin feels amazing. Internet trick I found. I think any kind of cold dairy feels good on a burn most likely

For some of my worst burns I had this sunburn soothing cream stuff. It worked real good The company was burts Bees idk if it's in the states

got a gnarly burn last week right before my business meetings so I looked like a fool lolol....

rubbed aloe like it was my job and also got some gold bond face healing cream...the two worked great. Whatever you do...DONT pick at the burn on your face it will make it worse. Mine blistered up a bit and scabbed over so I picked at it and it looked horrible

What SPF do you use? If you aren't slathering on hefty amounts of 50+, you are doing it wrong.

I wonder how long it takes for vitamin supplements that fight inflammation to take effect. If they work relatively quickly this would be absurdly helpful in reducing the damaging aspects of your immune response.

I generally take Advil (or other NSAIDS) immediately once I realize I've been burnt.

You break the Vit E caps and rub the oil on your burn. Or you can just buy the straight oil. It's common for reducing scars.

60 and I'm always putting on multiple coats

You're weird. I'm a ginger working an office job in the PNW so I don't see sun 6+months out of the year. I get so white that un-sunscreened skin burns in 10 mins of sun exposure as evidenced by the one beer I had on a bar deck this past weekend and bright red arm that followed.

However, I skied the next day with only sunglasses on in the bright sun and was totally fine where I slathered a thick, greasy coat of SPF 50. The random spots along my hairline, and also my scalp got toasted.

I refuse to believe you burn easier than I... I just think you skimp on the amount used.

I'm sorry I didn't know it was a competition

vitacoco coconut oil will fix that sunburn in a day or too. just got back from Euphoria Fest in texas and i got rocked by the sun. tried aloe and some hippie organic horseshit and neither worked.

the VIP tent was giving this stuff out, and it works like a charm. by the nest day the sunburn went from redish-pink to mostly tan with slight notes of pink. byt the next day i was one tan MOFO

Yet another use for coconut oil lol

there's a certain kind of tea that you can bathe in and it's supposed to be really good for burns. I can't remember what it's called but I'm sure it's easy to find on the google machine. I used it in the Bahamas cause I got FRIED the first day I was there (I have dark skin and thought I'd be fine...nope) and it actually did some pretty good work on my skin.
