i will tell you now, a lot of the guys there felt jon should have won. Tanner did well, but did not have the smoothest most tech run overall. I am not saying he did badly - but he didn't deserve first. Try watching the coverage again.

I think tanner won on the rails, the 450 was a litle sketch, but on one else did it and the nosepres thign was INSANEEEEEEEEEE. Jon with the unnatural tricks and the switch 1080 covered the airs. I think tanner won because of the nosepress and 450. Jon won in my opinion. His 270 to the rail was smoother than tanners spin. albeit tanner did do a 450

people have to stop getting so defensive. I didn't say tanner didn't ski well - he did. His run just wasn't as tight as jon's run.... Many people feel this way. Congrats to tanner - he is an awesome guy and its great that he won.. but speaking from an unbiased opinion, it shouldn't have won first.

 
I reaaaaalllly liked Olsson's run. Not the one they showed on the highlights, but the RAW one was much better. Just sick grabs, sick style. BUt i loved tanner's blunt 5...ehh.. and olenick's switch corks were sick to.... well they all were really good, so its just important that they're the top 3

tanner's run was insane. it isn't about how many spins they got around. it is about how fluid they are and how well they used the course. tanners tricks were way stylier than jon's and he just totally killed the course.

The question is, Who fucking cares! It's the X-games, a competition run by, judged by and set up for snowboarders! Just because Tanner won, doesn't mean dick about the progression of skiing. That's just showing that he's more consistent than others. There are far more expansive ways to prove ones steez other than in comps!

 
i care. tanner shouldve gotten 3rd. jon or olenik shouldve won, preferably jon.

There is never going to be a comp where everyone is happy with the results, and bitching won't do anyone any good. Even if you disagree, it's not like the judges were WAY off or anything like that. Move on with your lives. Even though I'm sure there will be tons of threads like this on the pipe too.

Look im pissed aswell tanner won, but theres nothin we can do about it.. you can say why, but its pritty useless to say tanner should of won or shouldn't of, coz its over and as someelse said, Pep was judge, so it wasn't all run by snowboarders...

yeah, i liked olssons run the best. i believe tanner won it because the 450 and hitting the other big rail when jon decided to hit the booter. in my books that doesnt beat jon, but i am not a judge.

While 'Quit bitching you little bitches' is a convincing argument, I can help but notice it seemed Jon went bigger more often, and I would think like ten 900s in a run would make up for a little backseat...guess not. And before you give me the 'Quit hatin on Tanner' spiel, I'm not. His run was freakin put together and everybody with two planks is awesome...I'm just sayin...

and steezysevens - it isn't a snowboarding event.. the event has a lot of respect for skiers and all the judges were either skiers or in the industry.. try many years ago and you may have been right.

Its too bad for all the guys that were poorly judged. No there is nothing we can do about it, but it really isn't fair either. Unfortuantly - we all left FIS - because we didn't like all rules and shit (it wasn't 'free' skiing anymore) and now we are back to the same problem ..because there are no rules, there is no judging standard.

Sure everyone should 'just get over it' but you have to remember this is where these guys make their money. If someone places 2nd or 3rd and should have been first that takes away their paycheck, their incentives, their photo requests for the next year (possibly) and their chance to be number one. It is a big deal... but in the end, nothing we can do.

 
what people aren't seeing is that tanner smartly wen t for style rather than 10's and shit, which works better on a run with a miniature last hit

the judging is subjective so there really isn't anything we can do about it. you can't standardize judging for competitions like this

 
DUDE PEP WAS ONE OF THE JUDGES SO I GUESS YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THEM BEING SNOWBOARDERS. IN MY OPINION, JON SHOULDA WON. SMOOTH RAILS. ANDINGS COULDNT HAVE BEEN SMOOTHER. TANNERS 450 WAS SICK BUT HIS 'NOSE PRESS' WAS UGLY AS HELL AND ACCIDENTAL ALTHOUGH I DOUBT HED ADMIT IT. O UYEA, CAPS ARE GOOD
