Deadmau5 fans! What are your thoughts on While (1

I appreciated his attempts to "break the mould", but at times it felt a bit unhindered, like he had no one to tell him "stop, this is too much". Some tracks I dig, but largely I feel I'm listening to a poor NIN tribute (if I wanted to listen to Ghosts, I'd listen to Ghosts... no offence but Reznor did it better). It's still a style that I like, but not what I expected from Joel really. That aside, it's also painfully long IMO... could have cut down the size and trimmed the fat to produce a much greater album I think.

Definitely agree that it was a little too long, some of the tracks aren't really album worthy when very similar sounding tracks are also on it. That said, I really dig Pets and Seeya. Avaritia was WAY WAY better in preproduction, he tweaked the main chord progression and now it sounds like garbage IMO

Yeah, I'd rather actually listen to a few songs from the album and then just listen to the 7 ep. I enjoyed it on its own, not as big on how he worked them in to the album.

I like the calmer feel to it so far.

It's the first time Deadmau5 has been listenable for me.

Based on a quick listen, Superbia is my favorite track.
