So the show is comparing US Army Rangers VS NK spec ops

As this match up can possibly happen I wanna know what you guys think before the show airs tomorrow.

I say US just on the side of technology alone.....and training....and because I'm American.

the one place on earth

batshit crazy enough to give it a try.

I can imagine there training being more demanding.....but as far as skillful and useful i cant see how they would be better then rangers.... but who am I lol

if this is gonna go down a bit truthful, NK specops will own that shit !

the show should pick 10 of each and have them fight a battle royale on an island somewhere in the pacific, like a team deathmatch :)

Who gives a fuck. We've got the bomb. That's right. NUCLEAR FUCKIN WEAPONS.

its useles!, by now NK has already infiltrated top secret military bases all over the us with an army of deadly ninjas !

American's love a winner, and will not tolerate a loser!

But jokes aside we get the upper hand with our navy seals, us rangers, spec ops, and not to mention the naval and aerial supremacy that is matched by no other country

it all depends on what kind of battle it's gonna be, if you get situations like you have in afghanistan, where insurgents are mixed with civilians, your air and naval supremacy is useless, i'm quite convinced that in a man to man battle, NK could give us special forces a good run for their money...

Well retard was like "yeah I use my shovel" when there's a perfectly good Ka-Bar on his hip for the other hand so of course they lost... But they won on every firearm challenge so whatevs. I still want a ballistic knife.

Air and naval supremacy is useless when insurgents are mixed with civilians?

That's if you care about killing the civilians ;)

For the record, North Korea isn't communist. It's a dictatorship with a command economy. It could even be called Fascism.

My best friend just got certified/accepted/whatever into MARSOC. Hes pretty damn baller, and when we drunk fight, its still pretty even between us...though hes not allowed to use any injurious moves on me, cause thats just not fair.

NK has a nuclear weapon, but its small and has very little delivery capacity...making it pretty damn useless.

Small arms combat in close quarters is the great leveler of the playing field in warfare, because it doesnt take great skill or technology to shoot someone

Honestly, that show is a joke.

one of my buddies was a ranger, hes been out for 7 or 8 years now i think, he could still pretty much FSU sooo, my moneys on america

people are so ignorant.

they have nukes and they test them all the time. jesus they spend half their GDP on military spending alone. do you not watch the news?

ya but if they can only deliver them to a max range of 100 miles, who gives a fuck?

And they dont have the ability to refine wnough high grade fuel to create hydrogen bombs, so their bombs are actually pretty damn small.

Lastly, we have nukes and NK sure as hell DOES NOT have rice, theyve been starving since the korean war...seriously they even tried to breed giant rats to use as a food source.

This. It's hilarious to see how many people on here think they know about special forces when in reality they have absolutely no idea about them, their training, technology etc. This thread is just retarded, like that show. That show is so fucking stupid.

this show is worse than mythbusters. just a bunch of guys who don't know what they fuck they're talking about trying to make people even dumber than them believe what they're saying. i had to sit through like 5 episodes of that crap one day when i was babysitting a little boy with a learning disability, and it was torture.

US wins. The US always wins on deadliest Warrior no matter what. Napoleon would have kicked Washington's ass if that were to happen, not that it would since the french were backing America. This show is usually wrong when they decide a winner.

The show aside, I think Rangers would take it, honestly. Training, technology, and the sheer brutality of some of those guys...

Wouldn't fuck with 'em

army rangers is the easiest special forces to join. The army in general has the lowest physical fitness standards, and will take anybody as long as you are not dumber than an ox. I know airforce physical requirments are easier, BUT their special forces is pretty darn badass. MARSOC is pretty redic, and then SEALS is also pretty redic.

But in the end, anyone who was a high level high school athlete would pretty easily make it through ranger school. Not so much with MARSOC or SEALS.

It's hard to take kim jung il seriously when he looks like grandma... i hear he makes a mad lemonade however.

i would just like to put out there that Rangers arnt even within the high levels of the American Special Forces. Yes they are very very very good, but they arnt top level.

And my other point is that is IMPOSSIBLE to compare armies now a days to each other. about 87% or something of the war in Iraq involved Air Support. And if we factor in Air Support, USA has the AC130... its just not going to be correct for who ever wins.

if you factor in some more criteria besides physical fitness/fighting, weapons handling and their weaponry arsenal, there are immediately a couple of big contenders like navy seals or spetsnaz who'd immediately fall out of the boar.....

think in terms of:

Psychology, interpreting the intentions of both friend and foe, negotiation tactics, learning how to withstand "interrogation", learning how to start/stop riots/uprisings, etc...

Languages ? several arab dialects would give special forces a huge advantage in theatres such as iraq or afghanistan....

Medical training ? being able to treat your wounded in an improvised "ER" without the need of immediate evacuation can give you a huge advantage and may be the difference between mission success and failure....

Use of weaponry/machinery (see mcgyver/a-team)

Escape, evasion, infiltration: how well can they "blend" with the natives to acquire information or perform other objectives....

Special tactics?

are these forces trained to use a variety of vehicles?

Underwater warfare/demolition/construction/infiltration

Halo/Haho jumps

and other insertion methods...

etc....

etc....

even tough these criteria might not necessarily attribute to how "deadly" these forces are, but they definately attribute to how effective they are in executing their missions on the battlefield...

In a lot of their missions, be it recon/demolition/rescue/etc , they usually try to use the least ammount of deadly force possible, cause for these folks the mission is the nr1 priority, and you'd be amazed how few missions actually are about "killing", usually the "killing"part is just a means to get their goals...

Just by your response I can tell you literally have no idea what your talking about. Rangers go through RASP, Ranger School is a military school just like sniper school, sappers etc. Its meant to teach small unit tactics and leadership. For the record, Marines, Specials Forces, Army Rangers, SEALs everyone can go to Ranger School, and there has been times when people from all those groups failed out.

They didnt change names, they added MARSOC to JSOC and Recon kept its same mission capabilities. MARSOC does Green Beret type missions while Recon just does recon.

i think you missed what i was saying. In general, It is easier to become a ranger than it is to become a member of the special forces of the other branches i mentioned. Thats it.

Oh, and i do know that basic training is a joke, BUDS is the only school that is super, super hard to pass regardless of how good a natural athlete you are. the physical aspects of the training are not nearly as hard as they are made out to be, it is the mental aspects that prove to be challenging.
