My dad and I constantly watch both of these shows. Personally there one of my favorites. But my padre and I always fight about which one is more dangerous. Personally I think deadliest catch is, he think Ax men is.. I wrote this thread to settle the score with my dad to see what all you NS think on the subject and see what the majority of the two shows favor.

thats so sickkk.and yeah that might be true it could have a higher fatality rate. both shows are sick though.

deadliest catch is my favorite out of the two. Ax Men just never caught my attention. deadliest catch however seems like the more dangerous job.

my dad is the captain of a commercial fishing boat in alaska and does pretty much the same thing as the guys on deadliest catch, except his boat is a bit bigger and catches fish. its not just the sea that's dangerous, those boats are pretty dangerous too (someone was killed by a hydraulic door before). pretty nuts.

deadlist catch for sure crab fishing is rated as the most dangerous job in th world. is ax men about lumberjacks? and what channel and when is it on it sounds sick

thats pretty sick you dad does that. Thats so ballzy how they like hang off the boat and latch down the cages and shit. i was watching it the other day and the i think it was the maverick? (CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG)was watching a guy chain it down and he fell in and they got him out and shit and saved him the dude was so close to dieng it was so scary.

yeah, ax men is about lumber jacks its on the history channel. on liek tuesdays i think. and yes bef. man vs wild ftw. i love that too. surviorman is a bunch of bull shit. hes such a pussy.

Survivorman actually survives though? Bear Grylls just films himself in survival situations. I don't doubt that he could survive if needed, but Les Stroud actually does it on camera while filming himself.

Lumberjacking is more dangerous

man vs. wild = FAIL

i'm goin with Ax Men, but only because i've been watching a ton of it lately after watching too much Deadliest Catch.

both are equally as dangerous to me...ax men have chainsaws that can cut limbs off with ease when deadliest catch has 40+ swells and 1000 pound pots swinging by rope from a crane....both are crazy

The dangers are different. Cutting timber has more deaths statistically. However, the difference is that working on the sea many of the deaths are not due to personal failure. For example, a rogue wave can come up and wipe everyone on the deck out, killing them all. Cutting timber, the dangers are much more due to personal conduct.

My only question about the relevence of that chart to this discussion is that it doesn't specify what kind of fishing and deadliest catch is specifically about crab fishing. I really don't know which one is more dangerous though... but they're both super bad ass shows.

i dont know it seems to me that deadliest catch is a little more dangerous. there are more variables that can go wrong compared to logging. i guess that the chart proved me wrong though.

x2

the brittish guy is so crazy he crossed a lava field without any protection

survivor man takes more strenth cuz of the camera but the shit that guy trys to pull is rediculous

when im watching that show i wonder how such a dumbass can have his own series

but back on topic definatly deadliest catch

those guys have so much balls and its 24 hours a day working

ax men dont have those kinda hours

they are all hardasses. I think crab fishing is more hardcore though, you don't see any 30 foot seas and -20 degree temps cutting down trees let alone the constant threat of drowning.

No one is as much of a hardass as Bear Grylls though.

Even if those fuckers didn't cut logs from 70+ Ft. up, they would still live shorter lives because of the amount of tar is in there lungs and the amount of carcinogenic that are in there teeth.

well, i know just about everyone on the time bandit on a personal level, that and i know a ton of crab fishers, and I have to say crab fishing is a bit more dangerious then logging. both are intense though, but back in the old days of crab fishing many of the people on the boat would do cocain in order to stay awake and work harder. Basically they are running on no sleep, and dealing with a shitload of heavy machinery. that and probably the most unforgiving part of the ocean in the world

could you imagine how hardcore cutting trees down were in like the 1920's with like no chain saws or anything? must have been insane.

AX MEN fo sho

1) its filmed in Oregon

2) There's a guy on the show that has a mechanical arm that's still working in the forrest. The saying goes "it's not if you get hurt but when you get hurt." for the timber industry. Both are very dangerous jobs but I'd say being a logger is more dangerous just because not only can you die but you can also loose limbs very easily cutting down trees.

^^ thats crazy, deadliest catch for sure, ax men is a cool show though.. but dang, just imagine having to separate all those craps, you might get pinched!!!

i think deadliest catch is more dangerious... like i watched 2 hours of it last night... and the amounts of water they're getting pounded with when they have nothing attached to them is unreal... all the ice, all the rouge waves, bellow 0 weather... rediculous

I have never seen Ax Men because that show just never caught my attention but Deadliest Catch is one of my favorite TV shows and it seems like such a dangerous job.
