it might have eye rot, it happened to one of my friends fishes, a bacteria gets behind the eye and in the brain and the eyes bulge and eventully pop out and it finally dies...its kinda gross
 
i have no idea if theyre all dead yet. i moved away a month ago and my parents were already gone and i forgot to flush them ahhahahhahahhah the house probabl;y smells like dead fish
 
dude those little red holes were all over one of my fish. that was some freaky deaky lookin shit. it died and bulged and had the red holes, but it didnt come back to life. sucker died, and all my fish got whatever it got. bummer
 
beta's are used to not getting a lot of water. they live in little puddles in japan from what ive been told.
 
i've had the same experience. the family went out for a couple of hours, came back to a lifeless fish on the table next to his bowl. we had things to do so we just tossed the dead fish into the bowl, when we came back he was swimmin around all happy. lived for another year and a half or so. we renamed him lazarus for coming back from the dead
