Daniel Chong, a 24-year old student at UC San

Diego, was taken into custody during a drug raid and abandoned in a

holding cell for five days without food or water, according to NBC San Diego.

“They never came back, ignored all my cries and I still don’t know

what happened,” he said. “I’m not sure how they could forget me.”

On April 21, Drug Enforcement Agents raided an apartment where Chong

and his friends were smoking marijuana. Nine people were arrested and

the agents reportedly seized ecstasy pills, marijuana, prescription

medication, psychedelic mushrooms and weapons, according to CBS 8 News. Seven of those arrested were taken to jail and one was released.

Chong, however, was left handcuffed in a 5 ft. by 10 ft. holding cell.

Chong said he screamed and kicked the door, but to no avail.

Eventually, he began hallucinating and drank his own urine in hopes of

staying hydrated. After days without any human contact, he tried to kill

himself by breaking his glasses with his teeth, and using the glass to

cut himself.

Surprisingly, Chong allegedly found a bag of methamphetamine in the holding cell, which he used to stay awake.

After five days, a DEA worker heard noises coming from the holding

cell and discovered him. Chong was taken to the hospital, where he spent

three days in the intensive care unit.

The DEA has not apologized to Chong. He has not been charged with any crime.

actually now that I think of it, this has several flaws.

first off, he shouldn't have had his glasses. It's usually common procedure to take them away or replace them with something else when you're going in. Could have let it slide because it was a holding cell though.

And how was he able to get meth? Is he sure he didn't stumble into an evidence lock up, do meth, then think he was in a holding cell for 5 days?
 
A holding cell is supposed to be a very temporary cell for... welll... holding people. He was just supposed to be held in there before he was processed. I'd say this could be legit.
 
Thisthisthis. I can't vote so I haven't done much research on any of the candidates but it looks as if Ron Paul would shut the DEA down if elected.

if you don't do drugs you don't have to worry about going to jail.

after going to jail for drugs, i don't have much sympathy for people that go to jail for that same reason. it's not that bad.
 
how was he able to do any of that shit if he were handcuffed? also he found meth, a lighter, something to smoke it out of? and then was able to all while being handcuffed. nope...unless i'm missing something.

yeah same question. I get that it keeps you awake and all but without food, or more importantly water, i dont see how smoking can be of much help
 
I think you can blow meth you don't need to smoke it, but this story sounds real sketchy I don't think I believe it
 
they un-handcuff you when they put you in a cell. and you can rail meth...don't have to smoke it.

this story is fucked up beyond belief. there is absolutely no excuse for something like this to happen.
 
I don't believe any of that. Handcuffed for 5 days, but was still able to drink his own piss, find a bag of meth, and break his glass and try to kill himself. I call bullshit.
 
On their toes to keep smuggling drugs into the US which should be legal in the first place...DEA does such an amazing job at cutting down on the drug trade...totally..
 
even if they are (I'll wait for some proof) that's better than no one running around pretending to chase the cartels. I think out border/drug,smuggling situation would be a lot worse if we didn't have the DEA and ATF...

Nah, even being around people who are doing drugs you are now guilty by association and nothing you say will matter because to them, you are also on drugs.
 
Dude, you realize it's not just marijuana right? Cocaine and heroin should be legal too? What about human trafficking? In fact, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but the cartels make more money of heroin and cocaine than they do off marijuana...
