De la Hoya vs. Mayweather

Lol Boxing isn't nearly as popular as it once was, I prefer UFC to Boxing but I watch Boxing on HBO when I get a chance.
 
De la Hoya. I couldnt order the fight, so pissed. Also how much does Mayweather weigh in at? Oscars 154 I think?
 
Mayweather wins by split decision. Damn good fight if you ask me. I don't think there's anything to complain about. Mayweather also announced he's retiring. Yes... Mayweather.
 
sick fight. i had it mayweather 115-113. i was surprised at the split though. good decision, good fight, boxing is back.
 
it was a good fight dont get me wrong but no one really landed big hits ya know. The crowd would get super into it but when you watched it on replay you saw how weak the hits were and mayweather was pretty much smiling through out the whole fight. And as the fight went on i realized in order for de la hoya to win he needed to KO mayweather cause he just wasnt landing anything
 
He is he actaully? I understand he beat De la hoya and made his legacy and all that stuff. I just feel that he could bring boxing back and its a waste for him to retire.
 
Agreed, but I think he made a good choice. He made 25 mil on that fight... what else does he want to prove?

I think Mayweather is a lot like Roy Jones, in the sense that he relied tons on pure talent and speed for defense. He's getting out now while he's undefeated/champ. If he keeps fighting into his mid 30's his speed just won't be the same and his legacy will be tarnished, just like Roy Jones.
 
yeah i hope mayweather doesn't retire. he could be the next tyson. except the baby eatin, wife beatin thing. he's crazy if you've watched any of the de la hoy/mayweather 24/7 on HBO. all his sparrin partners came out with blood all over them after mayweather was done
 
in case people didn't realize its over. two judges went mayweathers side and one went de la hoya. mayweather won. he's just a straight badass
 
Did anyone see the post fight interview with Mayweathers dad? I couldn't believe that he said De la Hoya should have won. I thought it should defintely have been Mayweather unanamiously, sure de la hoya was the aggresor most of the fight but mayweather was dodging everthing.
 
Mayweather and his dad dont get a long well at all. thats why he trained with his uncle instead of his dad whos a trainer too... his dads a tool bag. oh well. it was a pretty good fight, mayweather def owned in my opinion.
 
when mayweather gets through with de la hoys his jaw is going to be in 3 peices being held together by wires.
 
ya mayweather won cause hes the best and everyone out there who says he didnt really win should shut up and go talk about something else.
 
thats whats amazing. do you have any idea how hard it is to block 7 of 8 punches in a flurry especially from a guy like de la hoya? he would slip or catch almost anything. mayweather didnt flurry as much as de la hoya, he would throw two or three punch combinations at most. mayweather also wasnt smiling because he was shittin around, he would smile when de la hoya tagged him. thats what he does, when he gets hurt by a punch he smiles like "aight ya got me". some fighters do that.
 
does charter still play the damn add for this fight on anobody elses tv. It thought after a couple of days they would realize but its still going.
