Anybody else play? I made a Steam account just for this. Game is creep/unsettling as shit but very fun.

Currently stuck in a tree stand with very little health and a zed below me. Fuuuuuuck.
 
I'm more concerned about the amount of content currently in DayZ. Also....the hackers. So many script kiddies were in DayZ mod, it fucked everything up. From what I understand, DayZ standalone is following that same path.
 
I bought it since it's cheapest now but for now I'm sticking with epoch considering it has so many more features than the standalone. I think I'll wait to play it again when it's in beta.
 
He originally said it was going to be $10-$20 on alpha release and would go up from there as it got more developed. Looks like he released it at $30 and it's going to be about $60 when it's fully developed
 
The game still has a long ways to go but its got a massive amount of potential to it. It's awesome how much more optimized the Standalone is, given that Arma 2 runs like shit if you've got anything that isn't an i5 or i7 (they fucked AMD users hard on this one haha).

The DayZ mod is still great, all those extra maps are just something you can't pass up and won't probably make it into the standalone.
 
Hmmmm, I want it and even though my computer meets the system requirements, I've had to run shitty assed graphic settings on other games that my computer has also met the requirements for... Don't know if I'll get it or not.

 
Playing Dayz Epoch for the most part if anyone wants to join me on teamspeak, ive got around 3 people i play with at the moment
 
not played day z but im gonna start playing rust. its only an alpha but it looks fun, basically a mashup of day z and minecraft
 
you guys think my mac retina 2012 with 8gb ram would run it with bootcamp?

here's my graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

It can run snow pretty smooth on medium graphics and almost never glitches on gta4 with high graphics (and 2880, but gta4 runs super smooth on most pcs anyways)

I would love to get dayz but don't want to if it's going to glitch like a bitch for me
 
It's a risk, but if you have an i5 or i7 it SHOULD run, but anyone who has played the Dayz Mod or Arma 2 knows that the game is so horribly optimized and unless you have an extreme high end PC, you are probably going to be frustrated. Most laptops get wrecked by these kind of games (and its even worse for macs), I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you have 30 dollars to waste.
 
What about rust? Same specs as the other guy except 2013, i5 and no bootcamp (not required for rust)
 
Yea you should be good to go on Rust. It's steamplay so its going to be coded decently for mac and the system requirements are really low.
 
Standalone is great just really lagging right now. If you want to play something fun play the epoch mod for the Arma 2 DayZ. Great mod and great servers too.
 
So basically you run around collecting items that are randomly placed and fighting other people. Feels kind of shallow to me right now, maybe when they add more features it won't.
 
The standalone is in alpha at the moment so there aren't as many guns, cars, helicopters, base building, objectives, weapons crates, armored vehicles such as DayZ Epoch does at the moment. This is why I'm sticking with DayZ Epoch until the standalone is in beta, (should take about a year). If anyone wants to play with me/my "clan" I'm on TrainwreckDayZ Epoch, ip is 216.155.140.199:2332 my in-game name is Scooby. It's a lot more fun than the standalone IMO
 
Search Raccoon Platoon on DayZ commander servers its a good epoch server me and my friends play on it all the time
 
I started to get the dayZ mod all working but gave up, anyone have a link for the standalone? I would be very interested in playing it!!
 
If anyone is still playing Epoch, I've been playing on a new server that really is awesome. Zero hacking, tons of vehicles, Tina of loot and missions. If anyone is trying to play in a really fun server, im me out reply here. I really need a few other good players to join forces with
 
ok, might be interested....been playing on zombz.net overwatch...air drop, tons of military drops, 1100 vehicles, can craft gyrocopter etc etc

im just sick of having to scrape together gear and run around aimlessly

what's the server info?

 
Haha.. I hate gyrocopters. Server is FOB Neckbeard. My name is blackface.. I have a strong room built and a couple safes. Let me know if you're trying to hang cause I don't side chat and I'm a bandit
