Days of my youth MUST SEE!!

i just watched days of my youth yesterday and it was amazing especially if you like powder and big mountain it was also really funny but anyways great movie i enjoyed it so go see it cause its banger

despite there being 2 other posts on this.. i have to agree.

i really enjoyed DOMY. accept there is no urban or any "too serious" park session and enjoy the process. this will be played multiple times over the season.

agreed

few boring segments in the movie, but the segment with Perman, banks, cody and Sander was sick. to see pro skiers just shred around the mountain, jibbing random crap and just having a blast was refreshing. im all for urban and big AK lines, but it was sick seeing a segment just a bit different

I thought it was fucking rad. Good filming and song choices. I liked the inbounds seg and thought the whole bobby brown part was cheesy but cool. Would have been nice to see Pettit and Hoji but the big mounting skiing was still next level. Overall super enjoyable for me to watch

yeah the bobby brown thing was cheesy which made it funny for me lol but i have to say that seg where he went through that shoot that was like 4 feet wide was fucking insane

there was no pettit or hoji? that's too bad

who had last segment?

i like MSP movies a lot but it's true that theyre really cheesy sometimes

The entire movie pretty much just consisted of Cody Townsend, James Heim, Banks Gilberti, and Richard Permin. Not necessarily a bad thing, because they all shred, but they definitely could've mixed it up a bit more.

This one wasn't terribly cheesy, and I actually liked the message they were trying to get across a lot. I'd say it's worth a watch or two, and I'm happy I bought it.

hm well i feel ya but i don't necessarily dislike the sounds of that-- those are some insanely good skiers (havent watched gilberti much in a while though, didn't know he was a big line kind of guy, i thought was more of a BC jibby guy). i made a thread recently about a james heim video that blew me away and i think it was just some POV from his filming for DOMY. and sometimes a smaller crew can be better for a film

i def plan to at least watch it once. i love MSP's style of skiing but like i said theyre a bit corny and long sometimes, and overuse slow mo. but def sick and i plan to catch it.

thanks for the reply

it was ok. Buuuuut....

Holy fuck Cody's line is insane. The POV shot in the credits blew my mind. Only reason I'm going to the premier on my campus is for that 30 seconds of footage.

This basically sums it up. That shot made the movie.

I thought it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. There where so many shots that blew my mind. Cody's strait line should have been on national news it was so gnarly. The editing was great, and the soundtrack was cool, it was pretty different from what you would normally see in a ski movie. It's the best movie i've seen so far this year.

I enjoyed days of my youth. Parts of it were really cheesy but the skiing is sick. I liked the narrating in it and how the skiers sometimes explained their philosophy about skiing. The cinematography was also really good.
