this guy is actually the man. some of the things he does are absolutely unbelievable... it's as if he can really read people's minds. he's so damn quick with his hands too. i was just watching some magic show with him in it, and it was soooo sick.

if you haven't heard of david blaine, or seen this guy in action before, you're missing out on some quality conjuring.

i just love his card tricks. not the ones where he does magical things with the deck, but the ones that show his quick movements and whatnot. that guy is so ill.

I don't doubt his skills by any means but I gotta say I'm massively skeptical of all such tricks or illusions or whatever you prefer to call them. That being said I've never seen his act so I can only say so much but unless his showmanship is so very amazing that it makes you forget it's all tomfoolery I don't really know what all the fuss is about.

he's a magician (slight of hand) not an illusionist (like Copperfield). An illusionist does "magic" by using physical props and utilizing perception to make things seem real, a magician uses slight of hand and distractions to make the viewer believe they are seeing something unbelievable.

The irony is that most slight of hand magicians do not have that much respect for illusionists, and that has been well known between David Blaine and David Copperfield (David Blaine basically called him a hack and a phony). David Blaine is definately the man though, and easily arguably the best slight of hand magician alive today.

there was a show on the tricks of the street magician a while back...if you saw that, you'd know what all the tricks of the trade are. not to discredit david blaine (cause he is really good at what he does), but i know what most of the tricks are. they're impressive, but they're just simple tricks nonetheless.

he is also and illusionist because there are several occasions, including the times when he appears to be floating, when he did have to go into a studio to use a crane thing and use other some camera tricks.

or when someone picks a card form the deck, and then puts it back, and he throws the deck against a window, and the chosen card appears on inside of the window.

yeah the dead pigeon was uber cool man. he did it with a fly too. and for the guy who said he used cranes in a studio to levetate...ahhh no he didnt he was randomly walking outside in NY. and yeah that beer can trick is soooooo cool. i'm so glad he's my dad
