I'm curious, I love listening to dave so I'm just blinded by my own bias, However, I do understand everyone has a different take on music and I have met people who just can't stand DMB. So please tell me why you dislike dave? Im not going to attack anyone for their views because I understand people have different tastes.

Probably just a bunch of people disliked them and it then became "cool" to dislike them- so the sheep followed. Same thing happened to Nickelback. People HATE them

i stayed across the street from dave mathews on the outer banks one year

cool story amiright

case closed, you literally answered your own question.

There is a difference between having a different taste and hating something. For example, I don't listen to Rush; however, I don't hate Rush. I'm looking for people that just can't stand DMB.

I fux with DMB a little but I also went to a nickleback concert (on purpose) this summer so I guess I'm one of those guys

I'm not that big a fan of the music. I dug it a bit before HS/early HS. I just moved onto other bands. I found dmb cds a couple of times in with other ones in my car. I'll throw them on for a listen sometimes.

Idk, everyone in the band is on point, but it's just not my style.

The really shit high school/ college crowd isn't my reason but that doesn't help.

In like 2001 they were pretty cool. I think most people's problem with DMB is their fans. There's the like fake spiritual woke cochella posers that think they found some secret key to smug enlightenment by listening to one if the most popular bands in the entire world. I'm not even a big Dave Matthews hater, I think the music is pretty decent once in awhile- I can just see why the cult following is obnoxious.

for some reason I have never heard their music...nor have I ever heard anybody hating on them

I just hear DMB fans whining about how everybody hates them, but never actually hear them or hear people ripping on them.

Saw them live once when a buddy had an extra ticket. They're definitely a band who's songs all sound the same when you don't know too many - especially when live. At the end of the day, I think they're an overhyped mediocre stage band. And can you really call a music act as successful as them "bad"? I don't think so. They're just nothing special. Like U2 or Phish.

not my cup of tea so do not rly give a shit.

i guess the chadbro following they have?

in my experience this is the prevailing thought towards them. kinda tame music that all sounds similar to the uninterested listener and has a huge fan base which includes a lot of frat boy types

This, the fanbase is super annoying, and that 'Ants Marching' song which sucks and is a tenacious earworm. Otherwise they play benign background music. I don't understand why people get really into them?

U2 is generic radio trash. Phish, you like it or hate it but it's pretty different. Whether that's "special" is up to you.

trustafarian

priviliged white kids who subsribe to the hippie lifestyle (because they can) since they have no worries about money, a job etc. They can then devote their lives to eating organic, following DMB, and wearing dreadlocks (no need for job interviews).

I mean that is kind of the American Dream- to be wealthy enough to raise kids that can afford to be completely unskilled at anything except some psuedo-philisophical, vaguely Eastern (minus the uncool stuff) secular religion that is based on doing drugs and chastising people that have to work conventionally to support themselves.

"We just feel like experiences are more valuable than things..." Said every rich person ever.

Fanbase by me is full of people who act like choches, and their concerts gave kids from my high school an excuse to get blackout at a concert for a band that they don't give a shit about.
