Why is this guy considered a pro and is in most of the movies?

He's pretyy sick on rails, but thats about it. When it comes to jumps i have yet to see him spin over a 540 and they arent even all that nice, ive seen some sicker skiers at my local ski hill

I think style only gets you so far, and what Dash is doing will never put him on the level of a Tanner Pep or JOn becuase they add style to technically much more difficult tricks..

Pollard is someone that does slow spins with style, but he is also crazy with his switch bc skills and whatnot, which would put him over a Dash

i personally think his 'i only wanna spin up to 540 to maintain style' is a cop out of not being able to do sicker tricks

um just kidding but I do think he's sick, style is important- more than technicality i think... and also there's a certain amount of jealousy that is clear when someone talks about a pro that they don't think should be pro. part of it is luck, sure, but there's a lot of work involved with getting where someone like dash is.

DASH LONG IS FUCKIN ILL!!! The person that started this post is a fuckin dumb ass. First of all as you said he has sick style on rails. He spins 540s both ways, natural and unatural. He also does many other tricks like rodeo 5s both ways. He is sick and he has true skills, anybody that thinks different shouldnt be on this site.

I think he's the same kind of skier as Eric Pollard, no huge moves but sick style, and Pollard rulz, so Dash also rulz !!

in the freeze add i think second this year it shows him tailsliding an urban hand rail, and says see dash in ready fire aim, but in ready fire aim that trick is not even there, and he has likke 3 tricks total, none of which represent his true capabilities of a skier, so if you judge him based on his part in rfa id say he doest bust anything great, but if you judge him from anything else he is sick

my point is where the hell is the rest of his footage from this year? is he in versus?

The difference between he and Pollard is huge, if anyone saw lifted they could see that Eric has much more BC skill, and does switch shit in powder, along with his slow spins and style

I didn't say that dash was as good as pollard, I said they're the same type of skiers. Pollard is definitely better.

his take on tricks is pretty unique. it is cool to see someone doing tricks everywitch way but he has to step it up some times. there is no reason why you can't make a switch cork 9 stylie

 
ya Dash Longe does have super sick style. But like someone else just wrote, Dash said he wanted to learn another 180 every year. I havent seen more than a 5 still in any video. Not dissin him, still super sick style I just havent seen it yet

Stylie tricks up to a 540 dont impress me that much, other skiers can do the tricks he does just as nice if not better.. And on top of that they have 3 times the amount of tricks that Dash can pull.. I'm not saying he's not good at whats he does, hes for sure sick on rails, but the rest doesnt impress me at all..

if you think about it, dash has 4 more tricks than anyubody else...540, switch 540, right side 540, switch rightside 540...he can go anyway he wants, unlike most people who can only spin one way

ok if i hear someone compare him to tanner or jon again im gunna puke. They're totally different, Jon and Tanner are competition horses, thats their deal, and they take that training and competition style and mold it into video parts. That's not bad, in fact it's super sick and totally necessary, but just because Dash isn't doing exactly the same thing as them doesn't mean he's unworthy to be pro

i saw dash skiing this summer and hes actually not that stylish. he just tries the same thing over and over until its perfect, then puts that in a video. and hes definatley not the only one around throwing unatural spins. ever heard of pollard? he spins to the right, but a majority of his tricks are to the left, and he has more steze, and a much bigger bag of tricks.

speaking of steez...this is of topic, but i dont feel like starting a new one....how come everyone is praising 'steez' but when somone one nosepresses, is as bonerd out as u can get? legs together and knees locked? im gonna set that one aside and go for a tail press, i think thatll be harder and more stylie

 
dont be hatin on dash... hes a solid skier.. granted, there are much better people... but hes out there, having fun, and laying down some sick shit... thats what its all about.. so what if theres some kid out there who can do more shit then he can, maybe theyre not as chill... and thats stupid, noone wants to film with people like that

Dash is sick, hes just not on the same level at tanner/pep.....but personaly i would rather see a section of dash than tanner/pep due to a different aprotch to style that is hard to copy

 
I think dash def has a good thing goin, but he needs to mix it up a bit mroe if he wants to claim it's all for style and not just copping out of not having balls for bigger tricks. Like everything is 5 5 5, he could throw in some switch 3's, 7's, swicth 7's, and even with those couple I'd feel better. All in all he's still a pretty tight skier though.

What's amazing about Dash is that he is NOT like all of these other skiers you are all comparing him to. I have spent the past 3 years with him, and I know for a fact that he would take it as a compliment that you all are saying that he's not like the others. And if any of you knew shit about the inside of skiing then you would know that's what they all are trying to do-- stand out and be unique! You donkeys, stop being a bitch about shit that you know you can't do anyways!
