Big mountain looks easy. That was the funniest post I have read all night. You should be ashamed. Park looks super easy in the movies too cause the skiers are pros and make tricks look effortless.

rhalves isnt that respected in the racing community, he's a one maybe two discipline skiier who does well on occasion, but the fact that he's in an msp movie doesnt mean they're trying to break him into the newschool, when your acclimatized to skiing 50 plus degree slopes covered in ice at speeds of over 120 km/h a little big mountain action comes easy to you, sooo msp films alot of big moutain, which would make it seem like a natural fit to have rhalves in thier movies.

Then why the heck are you even on Newschoolers.com?? If freestyle skiing is boring to you -- which is what this whole Web site is about -- then I don't see any other reason for your posts than to be defensive of your insecurity and stir shit up.

With the odd exception such as yourself, NS.com riders are into NEW SCHOOL FREESTYLE -- park, pipe, etc. -- not racing, or even big mountain for that matter. I am in no way dissing racing, I'm just saying it doesn't belong on NS.com. As for big mountain, it's pretty much the utopia of our sport, but unfortunately 99.999% of us will never get to ski an Alaskan face, while on the other hand 99.999% have everyday access to parks and pipes.

Yes this is a newschool skiing site but freeskiing still belongs here, and i bet Darren can throw down in the park better than most of you punks as well.

DR is the most successful American downhill skier ever. hes the only american to ever win at kitzbuhel. There are thousands of teenagers who can "throw down in the park." and there isnt a single American who can win at kitzbuhel besides daron. If you kids have no respect for his abilities, you epitomize whats wrong with skiing these days. At any rate, I'm 100% confident that Daron would have skied that double drop in Yearbook way better than Tanner did without being a cocky little prick.

why not? theres 50 000 kids on this site, im sure most of them suck. plus if he's like bode, he can rock the 7s which is more than most kids on here can say.

well i dont know eveyrones skill level, but i know a lotta people on here that wouldnt even look at a 7 as anything... im just saying hes good at what he does for sure, but hes not good at we do, so nobody should compare

just because he is a great racer doesnt mean he cant do other things to - and its awesome that he doing big mountain. also if its gay that he did gates down a mountain are mark abma and davenport gay for going down them to?? if you watch the extras they just did it for fun one day
 
Dude, how can you say that? Darren is a sick big mounatin skier. Just because he raced your labeling him as a racer, and why? so what if he did race, he's here ripping the mountain now. And I dislike your spandex comment. Why are you hating on someone who is good what they do? And for the records,MSP is not ruining this sport. They started it.

heres the sitch- newschoolers.com=freeskiing. alot of people on this site dont like racers (even though 75% probably are or ski with them). it is also a blog. people feel the need to trash something. racers arent doing tricks. race companys make skis but "take the money for racing" apparently some think. NS isnt the most individualist of places. alot of people just say what they think sounds right.

i fucking sound like a transcendentalist. just forget it.
 
The hitlist was a good movie, they put on a good premier in Whistler too. Anyone who thinks bigmountain skiing is "easy" is an idiot. Daron is a great guy, I had a chance to talk to him at the world cup opener at soelden, austria this year. Variety is nice , he's not invading, he just likes to rip. Red Bull also sponsors Daron, and they happen to lend MSP the helicopter for the segement they filmed with Daron and Abma up in Alaska. If you don't like it, don't watch it.
