ummm theres like 7-8 or them and the guy just drew them because he wanted to get more publisicity (sp). google it becaues im too lazy. They arent even bad, but they depict Muhammad, which is a sin to the Islamic people.

that first pic was the only one i could find, but its like the worst. the symbol on his head is the symbol of the Kuran (sp) (the holy book of islam)
 
Thats so fucking terrible. How can you guys say its funny, or not a big deal. Thats like a cartoonist drawing a picture of jesus with her hands down a little boys pants. Christians, especially catholics, would flip a shit if that happend.
 
people draw cartoons about jesus doing a bunch of stupid shit and even have him in tv shows being made fun of, but christians don't go fucken rioting about it.
 
yeah seriously, offensive pictures of Jesus are drawn all the time (Piss Christ). What happens? Some people get offended, but we don't start burning embassies. A couple newspapers publish these independently, and all of a sudden the Danish embassy is being burned. Sure they're not in good taste, but it's the publishers fault. This is rediculous.

Stupid Muslims stormed the danish embassy in Iran. They are such fucking idiots. I know its culture shock and everything, but honestly. Its not like the Danish embassy in Iran had ANYTHING to do with the cartoons.
 
well you see, the difference is that its not against the Christian religion to depict or idolize Jesus, where in the Islamic religion it is. They don't tolerate any forms of "false idols."

Islam in many ways is a hard religion to agree with. Muhammed preached that the way to spread the religion was by jihad, something that I and many others, including Muslims can not agree with.
 
They may be overreacting a bit, but you guys are ignorant. Portraying Mohammad in pictures is strictly forbidden in their religion. Its a serious sin, like murder and theft in christianity. They treat the Koran as the real word of god and it dictates their lives in those countries that aren't secular.

It's not at all similar to drawing perverted pictures of Jesus or God, nothing at all like that. We have no equivilant crime in western civilizations because we live in such a different culture. In their culture, its a serious, serious sin and crime. Just because it isn't to us, does not mean it isn't to them. America, Canada, and other western nations do not equal planet earth. I'm amazed that those newspapers continue to run those pictures that are so offensive to one of the worlds largest religion. Idiocy and Ignorance is all it is. A feeling of superiority because they have a "freedom of speech and press" so they don't have to respect the wishes of other people. They don't have to remove those cartoons from their papers, but they could as a gensture of good will and to recognize that it is offensive to Islam. Idiots.

^You are right for the most part, especially with the fact that most Americans are extremely ignorant. But, what doesn't make sense is the EXTREME over reaction of the Muslims in Iran. I mean, they overran the Danish embassy and made death threats to many of the representatives from Denmark, who had NOTHING to do with the artist, other than the fact that they both are from the same country. It would be like if we overran the French embassy here because a radical French group burned an American flag (although I wouldn't put it past americans).
 
If you truly believe that then you are just as ignorant as the rest of western civilization. If you base your opinions on what is shown on basically all western media, then yes it would be okay to say muslims are all extremists that do not understand their religion. The truth however is that most muslims do not appear on CNN and CBC because they are normal people. On TV all you see are pictures of women completely covered from head to toe where you can't see their eyes. In reality if you ever decide to go to Iran you will see that these people are very rare, most women dress in pants and sweaters (however they do still wear a hijab). The media and the people who are supposed to be intelligent have a distorted image of what the middle east and muslim culture is realy about. Truth being most North-Americans have never set foot in the Middle-East and have nothing to go on but what they see on tv. As was said before, drawing Muhammad is a mortal sin in muslim culture, thats why they are reacting this way. That's the way they live their lives, deal with it.

Yes they will have problems and I'm not denying that, cuz at the rate they're going there will be a war between Iran and Israel by year's end, and then the states will get involved and all hell will break loose. I was only trying to open people's eyes to the fact that we can't call these people stupid without fully understanding their beliefs....which most people don't.
 
Ignorant? Maybe you should think this through a little more. Yes, it's obviously blasphemous, but this occurs towards all religions. Why should they expect people who are not part of their religion to obide by a rule that is part of their religion, and their religion alone?

Do Jews attack non-Jews who eat non-kosher beef? Do Catholics burn the embassys of countries who promote the use of contraceptives? Cleary these Muslims have no right to act this way because an "infadel" has disobeyed their religious laws. And obviously blasphemy like this has existed forever, and a response like theirs is totally inappropriate.

They idolize Mohammad. But they also believe in Jesus, and many others known as Prophets. They beleieve that God has been among us in many different prophets, including Jesus and Mohammad. Christians idolize Christ, and outlaw any belief that God has ever been among us more than this one time.

Typical Middle Eastern mentality. I love it when some people in the US and Europe paint a picture of how tolerant and hospitable Muslims are. That may well be true...unless you disagree with them, then they'll kill you and burn down your house. There is NO sophistication OR culture in that kind of thinking.

Anyone else find it interesting whenever "Islam" is offended, Muslims lash out violently 99% of the time? Did Jewish people violently attack Christians when Mel Gibson made Passion of the Christ? Do the Chinese call the economic world climate a holy war between Bundist/Confuciusts and Christians? Islam is dated and it makes it very easy to manipulate.
