Dane Cook is the Dave Matthews Band of comedy

So you mean Dane Cook is actually pretty good, but got overhyped by every person that is a 'hipster', which spawns dislike and unfair criticism from every 'individualist' who is too cool to like something just because it is really popular?

I can kinda see that. Personally I like dane cook not because he has great material, its just the way he presents it. I remember seeing him for the first time before he was all hyped up and I laughed hystarically. Dave Matthews Band is just lame
 
i feel like the things dane cook says are not all that funny, but he says them with such energy in a way that it seems like you should be laughing at him, and you're an asshole if you don't laugh. I think your comparison is a good one

yeah your right that was the wrong choice of word. By hipster I meant any person who likes something because they think it will make them cooler in other peoples eyes.

or.... he used to have some talent but he's new found popularity fueled by bro-type jackasses is now spawning terrible, over-used and over-heard bullshit that some still call good material.
 
its not my comparison, its from Toucher and Rich's bad comedian bracket. i found it hilarious so i posted it to see your reactions. I absolutely hate dave matthews band, and am impartial to dane cook, but i see where they were coming from making the comparison.

they are just a terrible band, and it is my opinion that they suck, you could have your opinion that they are the greatest band ever, so it doesnt really matter. I realized this thread was on Dane Cook, i just wanted to say how terrible DMB was, doesnt make me ignorant.
 
dave matthews band is probably my favorite band. um i dont really care about dane cook, some of his stuff is funny some of it isnt. but dave matthews is a great band... and i am ready for the shit saying that entails. I have gotten about anything you can say from my friends (Lineskiah11) and (oiecsoi)
 
this kid would seriously suck dave matthews dick if he had the chance.

he got a live cd from them with some 40+ songs or w.e and you would have thought he had just won the lottery. he was seriously that pumped about it
 
dane cook is a silly bitch.... it gets annoying though now because ppl who have only heard the kool aid man clip want to quote him have all his cd s on ipod

DMB's music is unoriginal? Maybe some new stuff but their older songs are pretty awesome. I've seen them live twice (once just Dave Matthews, acoustic) and he still puts on amazing performances. I like how he doesn't use the stereotypical rock formula and branches out to include violin, trumpet, etc. He's been around for a while, too, so it's not like he's just copying other people and selling off of regurgitated pop bullshit.
 
true. i didn't realize it was unoriginal to use a cello, violin, trumpet, and saxophone and have random dudes all over the place as guests and stuff.

I love the people that give there opinion on how they "hate" a band and then dont give a reason why they dislike them. Look i have no problem with you not liking them, i could give 2 shits that you think they suck but just give a reason why you dont like them.

Personally, I'm not a huge DMB fan but i do like them along with other chill bands like Grand Funk Railroad and Eric Clapton
