Dana Flahr on Fox Business news this morning

The anchor (I don't know his name) is such a prick. All he cared about was how much money Dana makes, how much things cost. There is much more to life and skiing than money.

Sure you need money to get to these places and such but like a lot of people on this website, we ski because we love to ski and have an awesome experience doing it.

i hardly paid attention to the interview, i was just watching the skiing clips. with that said, holy fuck at 2:03.

Ahah I was coming into this thread really hoping to find a nice vid/interview by fox.. I mean, they screw up on many things, but how could they fuck up a piece about freeskiing... right ?!

Ahah but they did... They managed to screw it up like they usually do, with a close minded ignorant tool as a presenter.. I really have no hope for that channel.

I really wish that Dana had done a better job defending himself after the anchor called him a stunt man. He could've mentioned hat the risks he takes are calculated and that there is a lot more to skiing than just sending it off cliffs

Good for Dana, he definitely handled himself well. The anchor was a douche the whole time, but he remained professional and humble. Good exposure for the industry too!

That old guy pissed me off...It's not about the damn money.
I also liked when that lady asked Dana if he had ever gotten into snowboarding. But props to Dana for holding it down for skiing, and what it's all about.

Schpwayna Flahr is the fucking MAN!!... for being on a business(?!) program he represented well in my opinion... fuck that old guy he doesnt have a clue.

Between the main anchor, and the douchey health insurance comment, my hatred of Fox News just got even deeper.

yeah that old guy is a punk bitch. at least the other anchor was like stfu its not only about money

totally pissed me off when he said he wasn't in the "skiing business" but the "stunt skiing business", like wtf is that?

Haha way to take polar opposites and put them on tv. Dana Flahr is obviously an awesome guy who is in it for the skiing and fun, and the anchor/business man is just the opposite. Makes for an interesting juxtaposition. Good exposure either way I guess.

Good exposure and the interviewer was def. coming off as a dick by harping on the money situation. But that's to be expected on a business show, wish he had 3 more minutes to just let Dana talk and not be interrupted.

Now that I think about this interview more and more, I almost feel sorry for the anchor. He just doesn't get it. He thinks that life is all about money, and how you can make the most money possible; while he probably lives a lonely, boring and miserable life. This is kind of what our world has turned into- materialistic.

Props to Dana for doing what he loves because he is passionate about skiing, not because he's in it for money.

That was pretty funny. The anchor wasn't being mean, he was just expressing his own views based on his life experience. I thought it really represented the contrast between the pro freeskier mentality and a "logical" career mentality based on salary figures.

Dana Flahr, I'll be your agent!

its really good exposure for Skiing, TGR and Dana himself, Although i wish he had a chance to talk for a minute or so without being interupted, the old guy really pissed me off but I was happy to hear the other guy defending Dana's lifestyle.

Overall its always good exposure for our sport!

Not really relevant but who cares, their evil.

I just couldn't believe how that main anchor was so interested in money. Of course money is important in order to survive, but he treated money as if it was the most important thing in the world.

All of the other anchors though seemed to understand what it was about though which was nice to see.

Also, Dana represented and held strong to really get good exposure for the sport. Props to Dana for sure.

that made me happy to watch, dana's segment was insane in Light the Wick and that just confirmed he is just as sick a person as he is a skier

right on!
i still dont understand how americans can always make fun of the canadian health care system...they are the suckers that have to pay for it directly

Hahahaha, yep, people think it's better as we don't pay as much in taxes, but as soon as you hurt yourself or get sick....even with insurance, your fucked. Ah life.

the more serious question is.

how did anyone know this was on? someone actually watches Fox Business?

holdin his own with the big mouths, props to that, all too often athletes get on major media forums and make us look stupid, dana looked humble and enlightened.

Not only was the interviewer a dick, but he wasn't very intelligent either. He had no clue how much a season would cost for someone like Dana, which he gets for free and then is paid on top of that. If all the guy from Fox cared about was monetary value he should have realised how lucky (and insanely talented ) Dana is and how much all the whole process costs.

I don't think he'll ever get it. He most likely came from a right wing rich family. Business and money is all he knows.

I've never been in anything for the money, never had a job to become rich or save up and junk like that.

I had a job so I can pursue what I love. Skiing during the winter, and travel during the summer. It's the best decision I've ever made. I blew all the money I could have saved for school to have the best summer road trip of my life. I'm watching my money right now during school. 50 bucks usually lasts me a week or so on groceries. Very slim. My roommate, worked his ass off and had a miserable summer, didn't do anything, to save money so he can continue his luxuries while at school. I know I see his ideals in a different light compared to him, so my thoughts are open to arguments.

I'm happy I'm not one of those guys who takes money seriously, I don't need luxuries. Just my passion, which is skiing.

I wish more people in the real world understood what Dana was trying to get at.

That old dude pissed me off so bad......

i believe that is why america is so fucked, people like that who only care about money.

lol @ people getting all worked up about this.

try looking at it from the perspective of someone that has never experienced what Dana or alot of skiers have experienced.

doing what professional skiers do for the money professional skiers make, makes no sense.

inb4 karma drain.

dont take it the wrong way, i love skiing as much as the next person.

I'm gonna go ahead and not watch this. Gotta love 24h cable news' creative interpretation of the word "journalism".

this is what the anchor is paid to do.

i bet he realizes that life isn't all about money haha. it is part of his job to interview in this manner. look at his other interviews.

I'm sorry but this is just the wrong station to try and plug skiing on... at least the second guy gets that it's about the fun not the money

all I can say is good job Dana, I would not have been able to awnser such cutthroat questions with your ease, "do you make a million dollars?" man that interviewer was intense!
