i realized this a few days ago and was going to post in skier of the year thread...but i needed to start another...(crosspost from TGR)

Dana Flahr deserves mad props

umm, i don't know whats wrong with me, but when i watch tangerine dream at the alta premier i guess i was too drunk (not really) or maybe i was just in awe that sage and collins were there and i was waiting for their segments....but dana flahr is the fucking man. i really need to watch tangerine dream again for further analysis.

i don't really remmeber his segment, but jusdgin from here he fucking throws down harder than anyone i've seen in afuckign while.

i really don't know what's wrong with me how did i not see this before...unatty 3 of a~90 fter??? cork 7 off like a 50-60fter???? mad sick jackson lines through the calssic triple stagers cliffs or whatever you call them...in my opinion he's the seth of the next generation, except instead of lincolns and backies in AK its the newschool cork 7s and 3s in the jackson gnar

I dunno, I respect what Flahr can do, but hes not the next Seth Morrision. Backflips and Inverts off of cliffs are just insane, it takes so much skill and balls to do that. While a 360 or cork 7 off a natural cliff is really really cool, and I give him much respect for it, it doesnt compare to a huge backflip or lincoln that Seth does.

Seth just has no fear when it comes to this stuff, and thats why he is the master.
 
yes i know. he is seth but with newschool tricks; teh progression we've been calling for all these years, NS tricks in big mountain lines. he doesn't have a ton of steeze, but hes teh fucking man regardless. i've been wantign to see a legit cliff with a cork 7 forever
 
seth tried a cork seven off a 90 footer in SM3... unfortunately he landed on his head and broke his nose, but at least he tried
 
those weren't really newschool tricks. he fuckin sent it like no one else can do, but they were hucks with no grabs
 
the cork takeoff was not natural, not that is was not sick as hell. and dana killls shit but itwas not a nat cliff
 
but seth does what he does first tracks... on that 3 and the 7 they were both already hit, not taking away from Dana any because i sure doubt i would get the balls up to do that but seth is still un matched when it comes to things like that
 
if you watch the powder awards for best natural air, the winner is a double stager with a cork 7 off of the second cliff. All natural, not a packed down take off. That is way more impressive to me. Not to take anyghing away from him, cause Dana Flahr is sick and he is pushing it, but I think that 3 wasnt really landed at all. They cut it out before the smoke clears, if you will. Still, sick clip, but check out the powder awards vid. I think its from the Waiting Game
 
He lands the 3 if you have Tangerine Dream you will see it, slight back/side check but he is skiing away within a half a second. Some of the other drops are insane, high speed and he lands it and skis out with zero hip/back slap, just one smooth motion, the guy and Eric Hjorliefson were the most impressive 'new comers' with big mountain segs last year.
 
he;s got mad skills but i wouldnt call him the next seth, CR and Abma are already doing that stuff
 
Dana is the next Seth he kills big mountain soo hard, wins big mountain comps, kills the pipe throws cork 9's and cab 7s possubly even cab 9's now i dont know havent skied with him for a while and his big mountain misty 7s are the most stylish shit ever! Hes one of the nicest most down to earth people you will ever hang out with and hes soo much fun to ski with he makes you do things youd never think youd do. Dana is the man and I promise you he is the next big thing he should have been getting these props years ago but he will now I hope.

A backflip takes 10 times the balls to throw off of a cliff than a 360. For me anyways.

I still dont know about this whole Dana Flahr thing. You say hes the next Seth because hes been stomping corks off of cliffs. Thats definently impressive, but dont you guys remember Mike Douglas at all? Hes been doing that stuff for years. I mean he did a huge D-spin 7 off of a 60 footer in Whistler. The stuff Dana has been doing has been done already for the most part. That doesnt make him any less of a skier or person, but I just dont think hes the next prophet or something.
 
I think that he could be the next morrison really. Backflips off cliffs aren't that hard it just takes bals and dana obviously has them. I think in the Waiting game he throws some big cliff backflips so, but seth is ughgh SETH
 
Yes Mike Douglas is insane and people dont remember himn that much, probly because he is older then everyone and can still kick all their asses so everyone is embarrised. but he and seth are getting old. and I would have to say that Dana and eric hjorlseifson are the best of the new big mountain skiiers. Mark abma is really good to.
